Clan Page

I'm sorry if someone has already said this, but what happened to the page about clan information. I can't find any links to it. I think it should be included, or maybe I missed something. Icegram 21:21, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, we figured everyone would know by now, but if you can't find it, then it must've been deleted. One of the Wikipedia admins thought that it wasn't really encyclopedic (which is really stupid because I thought it was! I used that page a lot!) and they put it up for deletion. It must've taken action recently. I don't know the specific situation with it, but I think that's basically what happened. §ροττεδςταr(Talk|Contribs) 22:46, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Clan (Warriors) Metros 22:49, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

I say we should rebuild it. Make it a bigger and better article that wiki admins cannot delete it. WikiClan should unite. ClawClaw 17:31, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

If you want to have the article exist again, you'll have to take it to deletion review. Metros 18:58, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
I'm a Sysop on the Warriors Wiki. I'm interested to know if there's anyway I could get a copy of the information that had been collected already. I read the deletion discussion and I ask that it not be posted strait to the fanwiki is it's... as disorganized as many seem to consider it. But salvageable sections and verifiable fact could easily be included in the fanwiki in the proper locations. Kitsufox 19:49, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

I have it copied in notepad, I could give it to you. CrowstarCrow callsTalon Marks 21:04, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

ET passed it on to me already ;) It's slowly getting worked into the various proper locations for the information at the Wikia. A lot of information in it that needs to be gone through. Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 18:39, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Icy from Warrior's Wish. So apparently we should just wait to see what the Wiki genius admins do, then rebuild it? Sorry, I'm not sure.[[[User:IceUnshattered|IceUnshattered]] (talk) 20:21, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

We'd have to be able to reference things and get it through a Deletion Review if we wanted to bring it back here. It's frankly not going to happen. That page was all what they call Fancruft. The truth is harsh, but I'm your fox if you want honest. That page FAILED to meet standards here. Things from it are being worked into the Warriors Wiki instead. The fan-site style stuff goes there, the encyclopedic content stays here. Articles need references other than the original work. Warriors is, in all honesty, a relatively un-notable series for children. There isn't a lot of outside coverage on the matter. Be happy that the information is finding a home at WWiki and don't try and turn the lives of the Admins here into something akin to hell. Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 15:33, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm not really sure what you mean by "unnotable" Kitsufox. Did it or did it not receive a #1 title on the New York Time's Bestseller List? Did it or did it not surpass Harry Potter, one of the world's best sellers? Warriors IS notable in that sense, but if you're talking about some different sense, let me know. Regards,  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 13:49, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
I think what Kitsufox is trying to say is that the books were notable, but the clans themselves are not. I have yet to find a printed article that just discusses the clans in the Warriors series. ~ Bella Swan 00:14, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
I'd just like to state that Warriors has only outsold Harry Potter in specific weeks, not in total book sales. You're twisting the facts to try and make warriors sound more important than it really is. The books simply aren't particularly notable outside our fandom. The world and in universe information has absolutely no notability outside our fandom. There's very little independent coverage of Warriors. Compare that to Harry Potter, that's sold millions of books of INDIVIDUAL TITLES, where as Warriors probobly hasn't sold a million between all the books that are out. On the global scale, Warriors doesn't mean much to people other than us, who're in the Fandom. Say Warriors to a random person on the street, they assume you're talking about the Basketball Team. If you walk up and say Harry Potter, what is Joe Somebody on the street going to be thinking about? That's right. They'll know what you're talking about, most likely. 97.86.37.127 (talk) 20:08, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm not trying to say that Warriors is like the best book series ever. I'm also not intruding on Harry Potter at all. Even though I've never read any of the books, I can tell from sales numbers that this is a good series. Still, I understand now what Kitsufox was saying (thanks Bella!). And, one last thing: I KNEW that Warriors had only passed HP for a few weeks. So there!  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 14:40, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Anytime. :) ~ Bella Swan 17:55, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Some info we could add

A couple days ago, I went through the First and Second Erin Hunter chats, and found some interesting things that we might want to add the the aricles.

From the first Erin Hunter chat:

  • The forest the Clans live in is loosely based off New Forest
  • Some of the books are on the New York Times bestseller list
  • The herbs and their uses are taken from a book written by Nicholas Cuppler, a sixteenth century apothecary
  • There is a Lord of the Rings influence

From the second Erin Hunter chat:

  • Vicky says her favorite Warriors book is The Darkest Hour
  • the Tribe of Rushing Water shows what happens when two different religions encounter each other, 9/11 related to this
  • a theme of Warriors is nature vs. nurture
  • Bluestar was originally called Bluestone, but her name was changed so it wouldn't sound like the Moonstone
  • Warriors is on Audio CD, starting with Starlight

So there! Shrewpelt 22:09, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

The first stuff has been touched on a few times. However, the second stuff is new.

  • I don't see how we could work that in. It would probably be reverted as fancruft.
  • I don't think that's too important...
  • Hmm... I'm debating this one... I can't really recall instances of that...
  • That would be an interesting sidenote to her section in the character page.
  • That should be in, maybe as "Warriors is a novel series that has been published in audio CDs" or something. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Crowstar (talkcontribs) 21:10, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Hm, you've been busy, Shrewpelt!  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 01:53, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
I think the nature vs. nuture thing is good idea. Most books have a 'Theme' section, and that could be that start of a new theme section..... ~ Bella Swan 23:34, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
That last one on the second chat, the audio thing...we put just stick that in with each respective books' article.  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 21:59, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

That thing about Bluestar's name is really interesting! Nightslash (talk)

Dark River is in Canada

I've finshed it and should I start adding the infromation? I know that it's listed to be released on the 26th but isn't it technically released if it's in Canada? (They probably have Warrior's Refuge too, but I was in a rush, and forgot to look.) Griffenflash (talk) 00:18, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Well, good news, I've just got the book, and when I'm finished we'll compare answers and come up with something.  :) Guess I'm a new face, huh? Sorry I've taken such a wiki break, but I'm back, baby!  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 21:56, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Okay let me know when your done. Griffenflash (talk) 17:57, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

I just finished the last few chapters. Hm...how will we go about this, then?  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 20:35, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Okay, how about you put any major pionts you notice on my talk page and I'll do the same for you? I've got a headache the size of an elephant so I'll do it tommarrow afternoon? (Man, I cannot spell today) Griffenflash (talk) 00:50, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Heh, been there. I put some things up this morning, so hopefully that helps. Get well soon!  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 17:30, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Because they did not fulfill Wikipedia Policies such as WP:FICT, WP:FAN, WP:N, and WP:CITE. As they'll never be able to do so, they're deleted off Wikipedia. I'm in the process of chasing down a Transwiki for the pages, but apparently my request was missed prior to now. Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 21:06, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Film?

Should this be included it is directly stated that there is no intent to create a film so should this section be includedCoho (talk) 22:21, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Probably not. Take it off if you want.  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 03:21, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm tempted to say inclusion of the quote about a lack of plan to create a film at the moment is probobly good. The rumor is very tenacious in the fandom. Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 04:07, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Hm, very good point. I suppose we should keep it on there a bit longer...but, like many people have said many times, Wikipedia is no place for speculations.  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 21:55, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
That's the thing. It would stop speculation since it expressly states that as of right now there will be no movie. ~ Bella Swan 00:07, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, very true, but still...what's the point? If people believe rumors, that's their problem.  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 20:41, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm only a more recent addition to the Warriors Pages here on Wikipedia. Wasn't there a period where people were consistently posting movie rumors here? I mean, one point of Wikipedia IS to provide information... It's a fuzzy sort of thing. There are good reasons for both points of view. Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 17:26, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Hm, see whatcha mean...can we just take it down? That way, this whole arguement will end. I mean, we can always add something more...legit here later.  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 17:31, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Wikipedia is here to provide information, as I'm sure you probably already know. This is definitly a piece of legitimate and important information. Therefore we should keep it. ~ Bella Swan 20:44, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
But, on the other hand, it's NOT legit. It's like putting on the, ah...Harry Potter article that there won't be a Harry Potter...cake mix. (???) Why state that there WON'T be something? Like I said before, if a movie DOES come out, then we can add it to the article.  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 13:27, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Yet, you can tell that a Warriors movie is slightly more important than a Warriors cake mix. We should also have it because we're aiming for this article to get to FA status, and if you look at any FA articles about the books or what a FA article is supposed to look like, it always includes a section about the book's movie, so we should keep the section in. Regardless, it's stil information, so it should be in Wikipedia. ~ Bella Swan 00:37, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
The film is not even benn thought about for actual creation and probelly should not be included. If their WERE plans to make a film it would be a different storyCoho (talk) 04:55, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
THANK YOU!!!!!  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 14:35, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Gray Moon?

Someone posted that the title of PoT Book 5 is Gray Moon. I considered it vandalism and reverted it. ClawClaw (talk) 19:02, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Good move. No quality reference, no reason to believe it. (Edited to add my real sig) Kitsufox(Fox's Den) 20:20, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Someone has once again posted the title of PoT Book 5 and they say it is called Gray Mist now. Does anyone know if this information is legit? Epass (talk) 19:28, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
No idea if it's legit. I say remove it, and then wait until after January 19th, because there's an Erin Hunter chat at Wands and Worlds on the night of the 19th, and I'm sure someone'll ask if any more PO3 titles have been thought of.
EDIT: Po3 Book 5 is not called Gray Moon. Rather, Vicky referred to it as Long Shadows when she answered a question. TakaraLioness (talk) 03:09, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Character Section

I think that there should be a character section with a list of the main characters in each series. Sandpaw/Sandstorm isn't mentioned at all, and Tigerclaw/Tigerstar is only mentioned as Jaypaw, Hollypaw and Lionpaw's grandfather. Bluestar is not mentioned either. So maybe there could be a main character list for each of three series, a list for the manga novels, and a list from Firestar's quest. But I'd like to hear if anyone has any better ideas. Epass (talk) 13:38, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

There were lists of characters, which I do agree would be very useful, but unfortunatly lists of charcters in the Warriors aren't notable enough for Wikipedia, so they were deleted. I'm sure at least Sandstorm is mentioned in an article about the books, as is Tigerclaw. If you would like to expand on some of the book's articles to provide some more information though, that could work. ~ Bella Swan 20:47, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
I agree.  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 13:28, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

I noticed that the Power of Three section in the article was kind of short, so I added some info on the main characters. But then today I checked it, and someone had undid the entire thing. I looked in History and it said Spottedstar had undid my revision. What is the problem with my work? Epass (talk) 17:45, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Perhaps you should consult Spottedstar and ask them what was wrong.  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 14:34, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
I saw your edit, and I think the reason she rv it was because your not really supposed to have a paragraph of info about the books on this page, it should just be a brief sentence stating who the main charcters are, and the list of books within that series. ~ Bella Swan 18:00, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Firestar's Quest

I expanded the topic slightly under the Firestar's Quest section.

It's most likely not high quality, seeing as I'm fairly tired, but it's a start and I hope that it will soon be expanded to a full page. But in the mean time, I would be great if someone could refine it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JabberJacob (talkcontribs) 05:41, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

It was already an article, but was deleted because it did not fulfill Wikipedia's requierments for notability. ~ Bella Swan 20:26, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

So Does That Mean I Am Not Able To Add It If I Give A Detailed Page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pgcool (talkcontribs) 19:12, 10 February 2008 (UTC) No, I'm afraid you can't, because, as I said before, it does not cover Wikipedia's guidelines for notability. ~ Bella Swan 21:36, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

The Warrior's Return Cover

I'd like to point out that the cover of The Warrior's Return is out on Amazon.com. It looks really cool. However, I have no idea how to hook it up to the article.

SPOILER ON THE WEBSITE!!!

I looked at the warrior's official website's family tree, and it says that Hazelpaw is dead! That must mean she's going to die in the next book. Can I post this on the article?

Snowdrop, 2/7/08, 8:57pm —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.1.132.69 (talk) 01:57, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

No, sorry, it doesn't mean that and you can't put it up, because Hazelpaw isn't dead and the trees are not canon. Vicky's said that they're false. TakaraLioness (talk) 05:10, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Oh... That's dissapointing. I couldn't put it up anyway because I think it's a typo and they meant to put Molepaw. That's a shame. I really wanted new info. On a lighter note, the new cover for Outcast is out on Amazon.com. I can't figure out just now whose on the cover, though. It looks like a ghostly apparition of Tigerstar and some other cat, or something like that. Maybe it's Stormfur and Brook, though Stormfur isn't supposed to look that mean. Maybe it's one of Tawnypelt's kits. Any ideas?

Snowdrop, 2/9/08, 9:37am —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.1.132.69 (talk) 14:38, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Hunh. It's definitely Stormfur and Brook.

I don't know. It might be them, but Stormfur and brook are BOTH gray. one of the cats on that cover is brown. So i dont think its them. the only thing is that the background is mountains and thats where they used to live so im confused. Also, i want to find out WHY they left the tribe, don't you?

Nightslash (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 23:05, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Brook is a brown tabby actually... Aside from that, if you want to discuss the series, please go to a forum. This page is only to be used to discussion on the Warriors Wikipedia article. TakaraLioness (talk) 02:56, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Could we start the Outcast article now? No, wait, I guess not. It still hasn't come out yet. We do know some information from the excerpt in Dark River, though: Daisy has a new litter of kits, Berrypaw is now Berrynose, Foxpaw is Squirrelflight's apprentice, and Icepaw is Brightheart's apprentice (reffering to Firestar's earlier promise that she'd mentor Foxpaw or Icepaw). Oh, and does anyone know who the black cat with amber eyes in Lionpaw's dream was? I'm guessing Dawnkit from Tawnypelt's litter, but I don't know. Does anyone know anything else?

What black cat in Lionpaw's dream?! Where did you hear about that? :o —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.27.108.99 (talk) 03:44, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

I read it somewhere in Dark River. Lionpaw followed a black female cat who he thought was Hollypaw. The cat wanted to play with him. Lionpaw realized it had amber eyes, not Hollypaw's green eyes. The cat turned into a fox with bloody jaws and leaped at him. Then he woke up. I forget exactly what page it was on. If I find it, I'll post it.

NEW WARRIOR'S COVERS!!!

Here they are:

  • Rise of Scourge
  • Cats of the Clans
  • Warrior's Return
  • The Power of Three Outcast

They look amazing! Especially Cats of the Clans.

Bramblestorm, 2/14/08, 5:21pm

So...are you going to post them or something?  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 14:53, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Bramblestorm, please sign your posts by typing four tildes, ~~~~. It will sign your username and write the date, and it will supply a link to your userpage and talkpage making it more convenient for other users to know who wrote what and when! Thanks, Epass (talk) 20:48, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Oh... Okay. And I'd love to start the articles. Should the Outcast one be in the same format as the Dark River one, with each cat having its own section?

Bramblestorm (talk) 21:57, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

And does anyone know how to lock a page?

Bramblestorm (talk) 22:58, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Only administrators can do that. As for Outcast, it depends what the storyline is like. --Epass (talk) 23:51, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

I've seen a rough draft of the Cats of the Clans cover in my copy of Warrior's Refuge, and there were two StarClan symbols by mistake. I read the chat with Erin Hunter and they said that the final draft has it fixed. Sorry if this isn't helpful, I'm just wondering if there should be an alternate cover area when the page is created. Bramblestar 05:29, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Omnibus?

Somebody put a 'Warriors Omnibus' and it was...totally irrelevant. I deleted it because it was just a list of the books and apparently, whoever wrote it, wasn't that smart because they put a release date for 'Dawn.'

New Erin?

Is there REALLY a new Erin Hunter member? What's his name...Tui...something? It just doesn't seem like it's real. Maybe someone got mixed up?  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 20:06, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Tui Sutherland isn't a fake person or a mix-up. She used to be Erin Hunter's U.S. editor, according to Kate, and then she became the fourth Erin Hunter, so to speak, when she wrote Secrets of the Clans. She also wrote the first book of the Seekers series. TakaraLioness (talk) 20:58, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Ooooohhh...OK. Thanks.  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 22:55, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Tui has her own article also. TakaraLioness (talk) 23:17, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Really? Oh, a lot of pages just link to Tui Sutherland. I'm going to put a redirect on the page Tui Sutherland to go to Tui T. Sutherland. Epass (talk) 19:27, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Release date?

The April 22 release date needs citation- I'm removing it for now, unless someone can give proof. CrowstarCrow callsTalon Marks 13:15, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Spin Offs

Why is one heading spin offs? They are continuations of the adventures that began in the original series. I suggest changing the sections name to something more appropriate. Epass (talk) 17:15, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

It isn't exactly the continuations - the New Prophecy and PoT are the continuation of the first series. The Super editions, field guides, and manga are just going into more detail on things that already happened in the three main series. Shrewpelt (talk) 19:55, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

The heading is now 'Other Warriors books'. Shrewpelt (talk) 14:30, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Foreign editions

I just created a new section about foreign editions in the Warriors series. I think a picture of one of the foreign editions would be helpful, but since I have no experience in uploading images, I thought I'd ask here for someone to try and do that. Thanks! Shrewpelt (talk) 04:32, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Loaded one from Japan and one from Russia ClawClaw (talk) 20:26, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Just added the Japanese one. I had to delete the cover from this page because of fair use. Shrewpelt (talk) 21:52, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

New Layout

This page got a makeover!! me no like... >:( 76.27.108.99 (talk) 02:48, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

What are you referring to? Epass (talk) 12:06, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I think 76.27.108.99 is referring to the section names. An IP user changed them, so I think I'll change it back to how I had it if there are no objections. Shrewpelt (talk) 12:47, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I think the new layout is fine, but I the article is good either way. Epass (talk) 20:10, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I have changed the section names - or some of theme. It was just that Super Edition and Field Guide needed to be plural, the manga volumes should be under one section heading, and having ' (the flying comma thing) around section names isn't good. Hope you agree with me. If not, please say. Shrewpelt (talk) 21:09, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

The Rise of Scourge

Under the manga section, the rise of scourge, it says one manga will be about Scourge. But all the other mangas are in trilogies. It doesn't seem right. Does Scourge have a trilogy, or is it just a single book? Epass (talk) 22:05, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I think it is a stand alone manga. Shrewpelt (talk) 13:39, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I think on one of the AuthorTrackers it said that Scourge was going to have a trilogy. I'm not really sure though, as I deleted the email, but I'll research.  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 02:00, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Outcast and Warrior's Return

Why aren't there pages for these? They will come out in April - or some time like that - which is pretty close. Plus, I have the links to their cover pages, to put on the page. Of course, I'm not too skilled at creating new pages. Technobecian (talk) 22:16, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

We don't have pages because not enough info about the books has been released yet to create a new page. Never fear; when the books come out, I'm postive that new articles will be created.  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 02:01, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

I just read the 4th Wands & Worlds chat. We now know that, in Outcast, Millie's pregnant, Squirrelflight has Foxpaw as an apprentice, and Brightheart possibly as Icepaw's mentor, Daisy's mate is Spiderleg (uh-oh) and she has a new litter, Jaypaw's future warrior name will be Jayfeather, and there's more that I forgot. Bramblestorm (talk) 03:47, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

I have typed out on my computer the article for Outcast. Once the book comes out, I'll add the plot summary and the major events section and then put it up. With the plot summary, it should be able to make DYK. It would be very helpful if someone could upload the cover once I make the article. Also, if anyone is going to the Erin Hunter tour in April, please try to take a photo and upload it, because it would be a helpful picture in one section. Thanks! I am now typing out articles as well for Warrior's Return, The Rise of Scourge, Cats of the Clans, Eclipse (Warriors), and Into the Woods (still need to type the last two). However, I'm wondering if these will need to be taken to Deletion Review first. I don't think so, but I thought I'd ask before going ahead. Also, I won't be adding the articles for these books until they are released, so I'll have time to improve them in light of any new info. Thanks! Shrewpelt (talk) 02:07, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
OK, we will need a deletion review for Outcast, but I'd first like to talk with admin who blocked the page from creation. Does anyone know who protected it? Thanks, Shrewpelt (talk) 12:44, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Outcast (Warriors) was put through WP:DRV and was remade. Shrewpelt (talk) 01:26, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Someone needs to update the outcast page. I mean the book came out a few days ago and it still reads like it hasn't come out. Rembrant13 (talk) 19:40, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

GAC?

OK, I have been working for several weeks on this article, as well as Moonrise (Warriors), to get them up to scratch. I think they could be nominated as Good Article Candidates, but I want to know what you think of the articles and the idea of nominating them. Thanks! Shrewpelt (talk) 16:35, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

I think you should go for it! Somebody's really done a nice job with Moonrise, I think both are worth a try. ~ Bella Swan 13:27, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
I checked the links with the link checker tool - I think they are good. I think the two articles meet standards. Any other comments or concerns? Shrewpelt (talk) 16:38, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Added some stuff about the Russian translation of Moonrise, as well as adding the front cover image. I'll nominate in a few days. Shrewpelt (talk) 01:01, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

The two articles are nominated. Keep watch on the talk page for future developments. Let's see how this goes... Shrewpelt (talk) 02:11, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Cover Of Tigerstar And Sasha: Into The Woods

http://warriorswishs.proboards75.com/index.cgi?board=updates&action=display&thread=1205664667 Should we post it anywhere??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.27.108.99 (talk) 02:39, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, we can only really put it in an article about the book itself, and the book doesn't meet the guidelines for notibility, which means we should not create an article for it. That means that we really have no use for the image at this point. ~ Bella Swan 13:25, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Yes, and I already know where the Cats of Clans cover is too. It shows Windstar, Shadowstar, Thunderstar, and Riverstar on the cover. (Ginger tom, black and white cat, black cat, and a silver/gray one.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.189.25.118 (talk) 20:20, 26 March 2008 (UTC) Thanks, unsigned person. I was wondering who those cats were. Bramblestorm (talk) 11:38, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Proposals

I am proposing four new things. Comment below.

  1. A Portal dedicated to the Warriors series. I would be willing to update the article. You can see what the portal would look like here.
  2. Articles about the Clans that are Out of Universe. If this is a success, we could create articles on SkyClan, the Tribe, BloodClan, and others. See here for an example of what the article for ThunderClan would look like.
  3. Articles for Secrets of the Clans and the as of yet unreleased books being created. For the later, the creation would not happen until the book was released. As I have already said, I have articles typed out for the books and manga with titles.
  4. The renaming of WikiProject Warriors to WikiProject Erin Hunter to allow coverage of Seekers (novel series) and the individual books the authors have created, like Bloodline (2005 novel). I am only proposing this here because the WikiProject page doesn't get much traffic; if there is intrest in this, I'll move this part of the discussion to the WikiProject Warriors talk page. Shrewpelt (talk) 21:17, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
I really like the last thing, changing it to WikiProject Erin Hunter. That makes more sense than a lot of things I've seen lately... Anyway, yeah, if we all agree on that, I say go for it. Regards,  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 11:52, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Portal:Warriors has been created. Shrewpelt (talk) 19:40, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

CATS IN THE SERIES

Shouldnt there be a list of cats Jnw222 (talk) 20:06, 5 April 2008 (UTC) They were deleted a while back. Griffenflash (talk) 20:58, 5 April 2008 (UTC) We need another list. I mean the amount of characters I can't keep track of them all. I went to the Warrior's website and it said that Hazelpaw (Brackenfur and Sorreltail's kid) had died. When did that happen? We need the list back. Rembrant12-not logged in. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.10.224.148 (talk) 19:37, 25 April 2008 (UTC) There is another list in the making right now. It's not as inspiring to me as the last one however (I was helping out back then, under the name Oceanstream). Bramblestar (ShadowClan Leader) (talk) 22:04, 18 June 2008 (UTC) The list is up and includes pretty much every character in the series (with the exception of Ashfur, which I will fix soon), but the writing is awful. I've been trying to clean it up but people keep coming through and changing the stats at the bottom of each character. We need a uniform stats guide and some better writing. -wolfraptor 192.35.35.34 (talk) 13:37, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

The list has been up as List of characters in the Warriors novel series, just so everyone knows the link. ~ Bella Swan? 14:05, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Alright, about the whole thing where you've put the bullets about the cats under their section, that is a very bad idea. As it is, the article is massive, and could easily be deleted. Adding bullets make the article look even more unprofessional, and the WP:Manual of Style discourages this, and says that we need to write sentences about the subject, not bullet information about it. So, I would highly suggest that the person who is putting the bullets on the page stops, and starts conveting the information into sentences before someone tags the article for deletion. ~ Bella Swan? 15:03, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

They were gone. Someone just put them back up...fairly quickly, I might add, did the whole page in 3 days...but I'll take them off once again. Wolfraptor (talk) 16:12, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

we should just have a list with their names and clans and either when they died or what they look like. We can't help it that people edit the list. There should be one, though, and people should make sure others do not edit it unless theere is a mistake. We could, although, just have thier names and death dates. GA Failed

This article has failed the GA noms as it seems to be mostly focus on the "in-universe" aspects of the story (see WP:WAF) and has a lack of "out-of-universe" material to make an NPOV article. The article is also a bit disorganized and can greatly benefit from a copyedit. It is otherwise very well sourced and accurate. If you fee that this review was in error, feel free to take it to WP:GA/R. Thanks. Tarret talk 21:54, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

I think I have adressed all concerns. I'll nominated soon if there are no concerns. Shrewpelt (talk) 18:07, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

GA review

Okay, let's go through the criteria.

1. ? Reasonably well-written: This article only just squeaks by on this one. This is an article on a series of children's books, but some of the sentence structure is very complex: "Warriors is a series of fiction novels written by , under the pen name Erin Hunter" - Better to say something like "Warriors is a series of children's novels written under the pen name Erin Hunter, detailing the lives of various clans of wild cats. Writing is split among Kate Cary, Cherith Baldry and their newly recruited third author, Tui Sutherland (who used to be their U.S. editor), using plot ideas by storyline editor Victoria Holmes." I believe there's a project devoted to this; I'd suggest finding a copyeditor, because it's VERY HARD to fix your own writing.
However, that said, I think it's probably good enough for GA, though not FA.
2. Factually accurate, VErifiable: yes.
3. Broad in coverage?: Broad enough.
4. NPOV: Sure.
5. Stable: Eh... good enough. The talk page doesn't appear to be a seething den of insults, anyway.
6. Images: Basically, just means checking you have a fair use rationale and that sort of thing. You do.

The writing concerns are minor and only crop up at a couple points, everything else is fine. Hence, I am promoting this to GA. Good job! Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 10:38, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

So, are you an admin or something? Thanks for the promotion! Regards,  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 18:18, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Trivia Sections

Whoever keeps adding the sections that say something like 'apprentices made:...' of whatever, they are trivia, and unimportant detail. These are the kind of things that got the articles nominated for deletion in the first place. So, can we please stop readding them to the articles? ~ Bella Swan? 00:38, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

List of characters in the Warriors novel series

The List of characters in the Warriors novel series page is sitting without references on my watchlist, and I'd rather not see someone come by and tag it with a PROD or something like that. Could someone go over and put some primary source references on it, from the books? I'm pretty sure that's all it'd need, being a page split off of this. Cheers, guys! --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 15:29, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Excellent point. I've referenced all the characters to their respective books. Hope that helps. ~ Bella Swan? 22:59, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. It looks good to me. Happy editing! --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 03:09, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Just a side note, lifebaka...you have a very, erm...interesting name. Can I ask what the meaning is behind it? Regards,  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 18:16, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

The page has undergone some serious reconstruction in the past few months, but it still needs work. I'm working on it, though :) Wolfraptor (talk) 18:58, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

I've been adding interwiki links to the Warriors Wiki under an ip. Is this ok? I thought it would make the articles look better if there were links to inportant topics, such as main characters, etc., and it would also be more informative to the reader.
Eulalia459678 (talk) 15:51, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't really see a reason why it wouldn't be OK...I mean, all you're doing is linking things from the Warriors Wiki, right?  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 01:04, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Right. I was hooked on Warriors after hitting random page, and landing on the Warriors page. I went to my local library, got the first book, and was amazed. I eventually became a bureaucrat on the Warriors Wiki, and well, that's really irrelavant. Anyway, I'm just adding links to the WWiki as further reading. I just wanted to make sure you didn't have some kind of rule against links to Wikia wikis. You don't have a list of ctas anymore, but the WWiki does, which can be found at w:c:warriors:Category:Characters, w:c:warriors:Category:ThunderClan Cat, w:c:warriors:Category:RiverClan Cat, w:c:warriors:Category:WindClan Cat, w:c:warriors:Category:ShadowClan Cat, w:c:warriors:Category:BloodClan Cat, and w:c:warriors:Category:SkyClan Cat.
Thanks for the response,
Eulalia459678 (talk) 17:33, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Ok, those links aren't working. I guess Wikia interwiki links are different than Wikipedia's. 75.110.95.248 (talk) 21:10, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

We're actually supposed to avoid external linking in the middle of articles, and I removed the links before I saw this topic, but it would be best if we just had a link to the wikia, and used at for refs. It is also said here that if the link that is being used in the article is not a citation, it should be put under 'external links', which they are there under the Warriors Wikia link. ~ Bella Swan? 16:13, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Wayne McLoughlin

I just created the Wayne McLoughlin page, but as I'm not sure what to do to the talk page, I just saved it and left it. Eulalia459678 (talk) 19:16, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

I shall bring up again the issue of a link to Warrior's Wish fansite on the wikipedia article. As the webmaster, I want to have my site be the most popular, and referred. Because Ww is an excellent, exceeding source of information, excelling above most disgusting fansites of Warriors, I believe it is appropriate a link to my site be re input to this article. An exclusive interview with Victoria Holmes as well as other documented reviews, interviews, chapter summaries, characters fits this criteria. I would like to add this link for now. Please bring up any concerns here and hopefully we can reach a consensus. Warrior's Wish is an excellent resource for people looking to learn more about the series and to join in on the community, and offers different information then the wikipedia article can provide. www.warriorswish.net Blizzardclaw (talk) 23:44, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

It's not up to the editors to choose which links go where. WP:EL says explicitly that no fansite are allowed to be considered sources or link unless they are the 'offical' fansite (run by the author) or all their information that we use from that site is gained from another reliable source on the internet. The only real issue with your site and fansites in general is that no matter how organized or neatly the information is put on the site, technically, anything can be put there by the webmaster that need not nesecarily be backed up by other sources, so there is a chance that the information could be a rumor, and not true. Linking to certain things such as interviews on the website would be fine, but linking to the enitre website would be wrong, as Wikipedia cannot guarantee that all, or most, of the information would be correctly represented. ~ Bella Swan? 16:11, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes, I think it is a good idea to have a list of warriors fan sites....I;ve been to warrior's wish and it is amazing! Oh, could you add my link as well? http://the4elementclans.webs.com Smokeberry (talk) 17:45, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Book section

Wwwoooowww...what happened to the book title section? It's hard to tell what is from what series. It needs some clean up.  Spottedstripe(Talk2Me) 14:32, 25 June 2008 (UTC) I think se whould wait and see what other people think cause I like it the way it is now... Pgcool (talk) 04:09, 26 June 2008 (UTC) I would like to have it changed back. It almost seems like it is advertising the books, with basically the back cover descriptions on it. Shrewpelt (talk) 22:58, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

I've changed it back now. It just wasn't a very good way of presenting the information. A couple things are still bothering me: ref 42 and the lead. Ref 42 seems to be based on a unreliable source - it's a blog. The lead seems to be a little short for the legnth of this article. Any comments?
Well, looking at that ref, they are talking about a Warriors movie because they saw this information posted on Wikipedia, and the other other ref I could find [1] also got their info from Wikipedia, so I don't even think that section should be there. Somebady might have heard it on a tour or something, but there is no other reference to it. ~ Bella Swan? 18:19, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
I'm going to remove the source; it isn't notable. It isn't an official interviewer and has not been published as a third party source. I'll keep the information in case someone does find a reputable source, but until then I'll just put up a 'citation needed' thing. WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 17:50, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Secrets of the Clans and Rise of Scourge

Why aren't there articles for Secrets of the Clans and the Rise of Scourge? Hawkfrost18 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 21:51, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Because they do not cover Wikipedia's guidlines for notability, articles should not be made about them. ~ Bella Swan? 13:35, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
But if each of the books in the Graystripe trilogy has it's own page, shouldn't Rise of Scourge get one? And if Cats of the Clans can have a page, shouldn't Secrets of the Clans get a page? Hawkfrost18 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 22:30, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Both of those books have not recieved significant coverage by the media, and it would most likely turn into an article with a picture and bloated plot summary anyways. As for Cats of the Clans, it is on the brink of being deleted itself, as it is basically a picture and plot summary, and probably should be deleted. I suggest we concentrate on improving the articles we already have, rather than trying to create new ones. ~ Bella Swan? 18:30, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
So, I guess in response to this, someone just decided to dump the entirety of The Rise of Scourge's plot into Scourge's character description over on the Characters page. Geez, I'm gone 3 days and the page is taken over by minions! Wolfraptor (talk) 16:15, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

GA Reassessment

This discussion is transcluded from Talk:Warriors (novel series)/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the reassessment.

In its current state, this article does not meet the GA criteria.

  • Prose: Not so great overall. There are a lot awkward sentences, and the general quality should be improved.
    • I have asked a copyeditor to look over the article. Shrewpelt (talk) 12:30, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
  • References: This is the worst area. I count 17 references to [http://www.amazon.com Amazon], as well as several to Barnes & Noble and Powell's Books, all of which are not acceptable or appropriate for use as references. This alone is enough for de-listing. One reference in particular, currently number 8, a link to http://www.theguttersnipe.co.uk/, no longer exists, although it is referenced 7 times.
    • Right now, these are for reviews and release dates. The authors themselves have said that Amazon is a realiable source. As for citation 8... The site is a bit annoying. It changed recently, so you have to do a bit of web surfing to get there. And you can't really link it, because (I think) the site is flash. I'll look for some references to cover these citations. Shrewpelt (talk) 12:30, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
      • Even so, these sites should not be used as references, not for release dates and especially not for reviews. For one thing, these reviews are all going to be biased, because the sites want you to buy the book; besides that, it's just not a reliable source. We need to reference the review in its original form (I know it's more difficult but it's the proper way). Mr. Absurd (talk) 15:06, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
        • I've tried to get some of these reviews, but they all appear to be on websites where you have to register to see the reviews. What do you suggest? Shrewpelt (talk) 16:36, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
          • I've found some reviews myself, using several databases (mostly from my city's library system). Check your library's site to see if they have access to any databases. I'll add some references to what I've found so far. Also try http://www.accessmylibrary.com/, it's pretty good. Mr. Absurd (talk) 02:00, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
            • Thanks for the help! It looks like the Crit. Reception section has most or all of its references fixed. There still are some more citations to be fixed, mostly about release dates. Shrewpelt (talk) 23:48, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
  • Original research: The "Themes" section either contains original research or needs more detailed inline citation—right now it's not clear what specific details are referenced, and quotes especially need to be cited as well.
    • Hmm... that would require having the same citation in twice in a row, like this:

Another theme shown in the books shows how characters can be a mix of good and evil. Holmes has said she is fascinated by these "shades of gray" in personalities.[1] Her example of this was when Bluestar, a "lovely" cat, gave up her kits for her ambition. A third major theme, called nature versus nurture, relates to whether a person is born the way he or she will be, or if other things shape that.[1] This theme ties into the "shades of gray" theme. Other themes that have been pointed out include family, loss, honor, bravery and death, loyalty, and following rules.[1]

  • It just wouldn't look right. Shrewpelt (talk) 12:30, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

In a more general sense, the article is a bit messy, with a lot of confusing sections and sub-sections that could be cleaned up a bit. In my opinion, this article was very prematurely promoted to GA, and still needs quite a bit of work before it's up to that quality. I'm going to give about a week to try to get this article back up to snuff, and then reassess it to decide if it should be delisted or kept as a GA. Mr. Absurd (talk) 06:36, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Another thing: Do the books use British or American spelling? I would assume British... if so, the article should be standardised that way, and a message left on the talk page (right now, I see both "centres" and "centers", as well as "color"). Mr. Absurd (talk) 15:12, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
I believe that there are versions for both. Which would you prefer? Shrewpelt (talk) 16:36, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
As the authors are British, I think we should standardise with British spelling. Mr. Absurd (talk) 02:00, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Problem is, I really don't know British spelling. I will try to change the spelling using American and British English spelling differences, if I can. Shrewpelt (talk) 23:48, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

I will help with the cleanup, I think that this article has really improved since 2007, but it still needs some work.--res2216firestar (talk) 17:24, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Delisting

After leaving this article on hold for just over a week, I'm now delisting it from good article status. Some of my concerns were met, mostly concerning the sub-par references, but most of this work was done by myself (rewriting and referencing the critical reception section and the lead) and not much was done by others. The entire article still needs to be cleaned up, much of the prose needs major copyediting, and still more references must be fixed to meet the GA standards. Mr. Absurd (talk) 02:34, 29 August 2008 (UTC) The following bit of text looks alot like speculation and should probably be removed: "However, there have been many rumors of a warriors movie, so there are possibilities that it has changed since then, but until there is definite news of one, we should just keep hoping." Any agreements? Drakonis (talk) 17:21, 7 January 2009 (UTC) I totally agree, also, "we should just keep hoping" violates WP:NPOV, as many fans believe that a movie would not be true to the books.--Res2216firestar 00:07, 8 January 2009 (UTC) This piece of text makes no sense where it is: "How come the Rumors come and go". Who put it there and why? Drakonis (talk) 16:33, 12 January 2009 (UTC) Eh, an IP editor removed it, people keep putting stuff like that up, it should stay off per WP:OR.--Res2216firestar 21:16, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Eclipse/4th series details

Where are we getting the details about Eclipse from? I've seen a couple of direct details from the book's storyline that have appeared on these pages with no references, including Lionpaw's, Hollypaw's, Jaypaw's, Cinderpaw's and Breezepaw's warrior names and one involving a certain character's death. Also, the reference listed for the name of the 4th series ("4th Apprentice") does not, in fact, give a name for the series. Can we verify these claims? Wolfraptor (talk) 20:25, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

We'll at least be able to verify the fourth series' name once the transcript of the most recent Erin chat is up, along with Jaypaw's name. I think the other claims' info is coming from the Eclipse browse inside thing, but I'm not certain. TakaraLioness (talk) 05:45, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
I see. I checked Wands and Worlds and there's been another Author Chat. That's probably where these details are coming from. So no references until someone gets the transcript up. Wolfraptor (talk) 14:54, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Changed it back to version calling it "Fourth series", let's wait until the transcript goes up.--res2216firestar (talk) 02:09, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

  • Please stop posting the name of the 4th series as Warriors:the fourth apprentice without sources. Thanks.--res2216firestar (talk) 00:18, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
The administrator of the website that held the author chat has confirmed that Vicky Holmes said that that the name of the fourth series will be Warriors:The fourth apprentice, the post is on a fan forum, but look for the comment by Shelia Ruth confirming the title on page. I am about to cite it, anyone who disagrees, I'm trying to use WP:BRD in this dispute, so be bold in making a compromise!--res2216firestar 20:40, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Okay, an Eclipse page has been made, but it needs to be edited pretty quickly or it will be deleted. No talk page layout, and the article itself is a poorly written plot summary and nothing more. I haven't finished reading the book so I can't edit it yet :) Wolfraptor (talk) 11:51, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Hey everyone, just letting you know that the new Erin Hunter chat is up, and you can now cite it, as I have begun to. You can find it [2]. Thanks--res2216firestar 22:37, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Images

I've noticed the page's main image has been removed. Is it possible to find a replacement? For that matter, what images can we use for Warriors articles? Naturally I would like to add character pictures for the List of Characters page, but the only way to get them would be from Cats of the Clans, which obviously can't work. What are the rules regarding these images, anyway? Wolfraptor (talk) 17:03, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

I've created a image that had the Warriors and New Prophecy series boxed sets in it (there were no other boxed sets) and added it. ~ Bella Swan? 22:21, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Removal of the fourth apprentice section

Someone keeps removing the fourth apprentice section, any possible reason for this?--Res2216firestar 18:41, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Was it cited? ~ Bella Swan? 18:49, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Some of it was problematic, but when I replaced with only enough to confirm the existence of the series (with citation), the same user removed it again.--Res2216firestar 15:49, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

fantasy or not

ive only read the first 6 so i dont know everything but the book really doesnt seem completly fantasyish. The whole starclan thing is more like a religion in the first 6 at least.Mr. Invisible Person (talk) 05:38, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

I think it's considered fantasy in the sense that Redwall is considered fantasy, with anthropomorphic animals and such. TakaraLioness (talk) 16:17, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Warriors Movie

Hi, I am Shaf Girl from the Warriors Wiki. I know from Wiki Answers that there will be a Warriors movie, produced by New Line Cinema. Go to Wiki Answers, type in "Is there a warrior cats movie?" and you will see the details. I think what it says is true. If you don't, ask the Erins and see yourself.--Shaf Girl, Warriors Wiki Member —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.25.4.163 (talk) 18:03, 16 November 2008 (UTC) Wiki Answers is not sufficient per Wikipedia:Reliable sources, we would need a published source or a direct confirmation from New Line or the Hunter team. Thanks--Res2216firestar 20:04, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

I think you're referring to this link, in which the person not only states that warriors is being made into a movie, but that some characters are being voiced by Chris Brown and Rihanna, which sounds pretty unrealistic and not true to me, so it is possible that the whole thing is bogus. Regardless, Res is right, it wouldn't be a reliable source. ~ Bella Swan? 02:41, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I guess so. When I saw they were putting Rihanna as Bluestar....ick. Now, Chris Brown as Graystripe and Silverstream as Rihanna would have worked.--75.25.30.44 (talk) 02:08, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Series: Warriors

This summary in the "Warriors" section in "Series" is way too detailed and and focused on the events of one book, with little relevance to the rest of the books in the series. Is everyone OK if I shorten it and put more neccessary information into it? Swiftink (talk) 17:47, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Swiftink I am fine with that. Warriors Movie Rumors Must Stop

Okay, I am seriously getting sick of the warriors movies that are dominating the web. It's not just that I, as a huge warriors fan, don't want one, but the rumors are getting annoying and they need to stop. Whoever is posting in the "Movie" section of the warriors article that there is a movie, please stop. It is getting annoying. Sparrowfeather11 (talk) 02:42, 30 December 2008 (UTC) I agree that this is getting out of hand. Someone completely removed the movie section, I think it should be reverted to the sourced version that showing that a movie is possible. Completely removing it encourages folks who think there will be a movie to post the section. I would like some discussion on that here.--Res2216firestar 04:03, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Cherrypaw

In Spottedheart's short story, she mentions for Cherrypaw to take you to the border. Doesn't that mean that Cherrypaw is in StarClan, and has died? I don't remember reading that...--~*Angelstar*~ 04:04, 8 January 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Angelstarstar (talkcontribs)

Warriors fansites links?

Perhaps we should have a small section (or even a new page) of links for fansites. There are so many different types (graphics, roleplay, info) that we could have several sections. This would be incredibly useful and would be a good edition to Wikipedia... What do you think? Smokeberry (talk) 17:13, 15 January 2009 (UTC)of Thunderclan No, fansites are usually not a part of Wikipedia. Please look at WP:NOTLINK. We usually only link to official sites and sites providing reliable sources for information. Thanks--Res2216firestar 22:46, 18 January 2009 (UTC) I think you misunderstood me...The list of fansites would be like a directory to other sites, so people could add thier sites....It would be very useful and would'ent take much work... I don't think I misunderstood you, I just worded my reply wrong, here's what I think you are talking about: A Wikipedia page to list and link to Warriors fansites. Once again, take a look at WP:NOTLINK.--Res2216firestar 22:44, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

What happened here?

When I came off wikibreak, I found major problems with the article. I modified a recent, semi-good version, but there are still problems. I will be fixing these issues, but it would be nice if others would help out. The first thing I noticed is that the Omen of the Stars, Tigerstar and Sasha, and Ravenpaw's Series sections has shed their refs, they need to be restored. The other thing I noticed was the loss of encyclopedic tone in some sections. Just wanted to post to possibly get some help.--Res2216firestar 05:29, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Help with Simple English!

This article is pretty good, it's long enough and has some pretty good info, but if you can, please help with Simple English Warriors. That article has gone completely bad...not completely, but it is not very good anymore. If you want to help, just post a message on my talk page. Thanks Smileybell (talk) 05:50, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

...Mistakes? Huh?

I haven't looked at this page in months, but one of the things that caught my eye is the ridiculous list of mistakes at the end of the article. A number of issues arise:

1) It isn't formatted. 2) It's located after the references and Warriors toolbar. 3) It's not written in an encyclopedic style. 4) It's ridiculous to include in a wikipedia article.

Could someone more versed with this page's history fix this? Wolfraptor (talk) 17:53, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

I removed it, not really something that belongs here.--Res2216firestar 23:54, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

What happened?

What happened to the sections discussing past series and new series? And there is some vandalism under the Ravenpaw's Path section. ~~Kgreg10~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kgreg10 (talkcontribs) 20:39, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

I'm a member of Wands and Worlds and I probably would have heard about it by now if that's the case. The New Reign

I heard there was a fifth series that might be called the new reign with the first book beng called catching stars. If anyone could verify this, I would put it on the article --Atpb789654 (talk) 14:13, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

There are alot of rumors going around about that right now, but despite my best efforts, I am unable to find anything that meets reliable sources. I did, however find this quote here.

Stormflower(Q): Will there be another series after The Fourth Apprentice????? plz????? VickyHolmes(A) Eek! Can I think about this series first? plz????

:Of course, that was in August, and things could have changed, but until there is a good source, it stays out of the article.--Res2216firestar 21:07, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I just found out that the one possibility was it would center around Lionblaze's and Hollyleaf's kit... but that's not possible... we'll just have to wait anlet it unfold... :( Atpb789654 (talk) 23:52, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

That whole series is still just a rumor (and Vicky's always said that the fourth series would be the last). We'd have to wait until some official source announced it to put it into the article anyway. TakaraLioness (talk) 13:54, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

It was my understanding that she didn't denounce, or promot a fifth series. We'll just have to wait and see.Atpb789654 (talk) 22:44, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Just wondering, exactly where did you hear it? I looked at Erin Hunter chat and didn't see it there...or Kate's blog.--Twilight 00:52, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Editing the Plays section

I edited "Brightspirit's Mercy" because I wrote an article about it, although I later learned there wasn't enough info for a whole article. I made it a lot longer, and I'm gonna do the same thing for "After Sunset: We Need to Talk". Just FYI! Melkittycat (talk) 01:49, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Is this true?!

The Warriors movie will apparently be made by Newline Studios, will be an anime and Firestar will be voiced by Elijah Wood, Zac Efron as Graystripe and Rhianna as Bluestar. I read this somewhere, but is there a source? 24.5.173.217 (talk) 00:57, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

This sounds extremely untrue and if you can't find a legitimate source for it, then it is. TakaraLioness (talk) 01:06, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

I found a source saying that it is untrue. That's good. 24.5.173.217 (talk) 00:23, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Linking Issues

Hi, sorry if I'm wrong, but if there's going to be a link to the Bluestar Super-edition, then shouldn't it either be on it's own page or at least get more than just a mention on the paragraph it's in on this page? If neither of these are good ideas due to the book not being out yet (as far as I can tell), then I suggest the link be deleted and just leave it as regular text. Out. 24.162.226.125 (talk) 22:20, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

The links are mainly for the purpose of referencing the release date to an external source. Feel free to add more info to the Super editions section if you can cite a reliable source, but an article will usually not be written until a day or two after the book is out. Thanks--Res2216firestar 02:45, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
Alright, I guess I can see the logic in that, but wht about the first and third field guides? They're already done and out yet they still have no pages or good information that deals strictly with them. I also found that the link to "into the woods" actually leads to something that strangely has nothing to do with Warriors whatsoever. I would try to fix it but since it's installed in multiple pages I assume that I'll have no idea what I'm doing with that.24.162.226.125 (talk) 16:26, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
One more thing I found just when I finished with ^that^. The link that goes to "We need to talk" goes to Victoria Holmes page with absolutely no information being cited there. I suggest that either information be cited here or the link be removed. Cheers.24.162.226.125 (talk) 16:31, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Fixed. Thanks--Res2216firestar 18:14, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm gonna fix the "We Need to Talk" thing later when I have a chance, and I'm gonna put more info, too. I already did for "Brightspirit's Mercy". And about the 1st and 3rd field guides, I'm working on getting around to writing an article for those too. The only problems are, Secrets of the Clans will be pretty hard, and I can't find Code of the Clans. I had it just a few days ago...oh well my room's a mess I'll keep looking and when I find it, it's gonna be a really unique and cool article. Come see it and keep checking back to see if I found it. I'm also gonna write an article and fix the Into the Woods thing and write an article for it, and the rest of the Manga series that don't have an article yet. In fact, I'm working on an article for The Rise off Scourge at this very moment. To check it out so far, go to User:Melkittycat/The Rise of Scourge. Ttyl maybe Melkittycat (talk) 02:09, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Well, I checked the links to all but The New Prophecy, and all but "we need to talk" seems a tad lacking. *shrugs* Now if only we could get all of the books in the same general format, as some are detailed while others are lacking... :/ (This is the same guy, I'm just on vacation and decided to see if the "movie" fanboy hype was true.) 72.47.177.114 (talk) 09:47, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Series boxes

Perhaps the Warriors (novel series)#Series section would be better organized using boxes similar to those used in Private (novel series)#Book releases. So it would look something like this for the "Warriors: The New Prophecy" series:

2 Moonrise August 1, 2005 Erin Hunter Wayne McLoughlin
Several moons (months) have passed since the six cats set out from the forest on an urgent journey to save all their Clans. Stormfur states that he liked Squirrelpaw, but that Brambleclaw was a better mate for her. Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw's relationship grows even further. The six cats are now traveling home. From fear of the dangers that they encountered in the first book, Midnight, they decide to travel through the mountains at the advice of the badger, Midnight. In the midst of the snowy mountains, the six cats stumble across a group of wild tribal cats who belong to the Tribe of Rushing Water. The friendly Tribe takes the questing cats in to shelter and feed them. During their stay, Stormfur falls in love with Brook Where Small Fish Swim (Brook), a Tribe prey-hunter, while his sister Feathertail romances Crowpaw. However, the Tribe cats have their own prophecy to fulfill. They see Stomfur as their only hope, the silver cat mentioned in the prophecy of the Tribe of Endless Hunting, the Tribe cats' spiritual ancestors. Stormfur is forced to protect the Tribe from Sharptooth, a bloodthirsty mountain lion with a taste for the smaller cats' blood. Together, Stormfur and her friends help get rid of Sharptooth by anguishing him and leading him into a trap. However, as they duel the wild cat, it is revealed that Feathertail is the real silver cat. The Tribe cats thought Stormfur was the silver cat because Feathertail's fur was blackish at the time because it was wet, so the Tribe cats mistook Stormfur for the silver cat. In order to save Crowpaw from being killed, Feathertail loosens a rock spike from the roof of the cave and plummets to the floor with it, crushing Sharptooth, yet Feathertail herself also dies from the impact. Feathertail is buried at the base of the Cave of Rushing Water's waterfall and the remaining five cats continue traveling home towards their Clans. Stormfur is forced to say goodbye to Brook and Feathertail. Stormfur and Crowpaw are especially heartbroken at Feathertail's death. Meanwhile, Leafpaw, the ThunderClan medicine cat apprentice and Squirrelpaw's sister, has had to deal with the threats at home. The forest's destruction has begun and the whole forest is being uprooted by Twolegs. Near the end of the book, she enters into what seems to be a cave but turns out to be a Twoleg trap for cats and was captured by the Twolegs.

That plot summary is just copied and pasted from the article but should be summarized for this summary article. --maclean 19:27, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

A great article. It really has developed since the time it was created. I'd call it B-class status because although the article is great, the "mini-articles" need to provide sources. Regards, —Preceding unsigned comment added by Razorclaw (talkcontribs) 22:47, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
