Is there a relation between Unix's wall, and the "wall" on Facebook and some other social networking sites (such as fruhead.com) - a forum for public messages?
- I tweeted that EXACT thing (almost) about 2 minutes ago, but you beat me too it!

- the developers may have used unix/linux and put in a subtle nod to it writing on a wall!

Examples here are not portable among UNIX shells. Please, try to use Bourne Shell (/bin/sh) compatible examples. The herestring and the !$
