Talk:Voronoi pole

What is the application for voroni poles? Out of context, the definition of the negative pole seems very contrived -- pi/2?? Nialsh (talk) 23:11, 5 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

The aspect ratio in the illustration is wrong: it's been stretched horizontally. Michael Hardy (talk) 03:42, 12 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Various issues edit

The article suffers from various issues:

  • It does not account for the possibility that "the" vertex with maximal distance is not unique. If several maximize the distance, are then all poles, or should one randomly pick one and declare it to be the pole?
  • It uses a notion of "average direction" that is not well defined. Is it the direction that minimizes the square differences of the angles with the other directions, or the direction of the average of the unit vectors, or still something else?
  • It fails to give even the slightest clue as to why this somewhat abstruse concept of positive and negative Voronoi poles should be of interest to anyone. The article is an orphan and has only one (primary?) source, so is this actually notable?
