Does this town have anything to do with Billy Joel's song, Vienna?
According to this site, that song is either about his father in Vienna, Austria, or using that Vienna as a metaphor for a place where an artist goes to "make it".
It's unlikely that Vienna, New York ever inspired a song - it's a town in the official sense, but not what you'd think of when you think of a "small town". Virtually no one would ever say they were "from Vienna" or "going to Vienna", unless they were referring to the hamlet of Vienna, which is just a few houses and a state highway maintenance building surrounding a sleepy rural intersection. But who knows - there's a The Notorious B.I.G. rhyme that mentions the equally sleepy rural locale of Bridgeport, New York. AKADriver 18:03, 19 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
