Divergence?

edit

Quote:

When looking into the distance, or when 'staring into nothingness', the eyes neither converge nor diverge.

So "divergence" is when we look at objects even further away(!), or behind our heads(!!!)? From the article, I get the impression divergence is what happens when you follow something with your eyes while it moves away from you, or e.g. when you switch from looking at your nose into looking at distant mountains. If so, the quote above makes little merit.--Niels Ø (noe) 15:43, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Distance cue

edit

The angle between the lines of vision from either eye to an object is a distance cue. I think I've read somewhere that it is involved in the perception of distance up to about 6 meters, but not beyond that as the difference becomes too small. If true, I think it's a fact that belongs in this article.--Niels Ø (noe) 15:45, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

What about exotropia and esotropia?

edit

Exotropia and esotropia appear to be convergence errors as well, yet they are not mentioned, and the referenced text does not appear to mention them either. --74.124.187.76 (talk) 06:57, 15 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
