Not the same. Cloning vector is one type of vector, and is designed for the ease of cloning. Expression vector is designed specifically for protein expression. While they may share some basic features, some elements in expression vectors can be very different from cloning vector. This is not to say that they can't be merged, but they aren't the same thing. Definition in need of edit

"In molecular biology, a vector is a DNA molecule used as a vehicle to transfer foreign genetic material into another cell. The four major types of vectors are plasmids, viruses, cosmids, and artificial chromosomes"

These two sentences imply the following: vector=DNA, virus=vector ==> DNA=virus. It's needless to say that that's utterly wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.224.213.240 (talk) 02:23, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
