Talk:Vapor steam cleaner

Latest comment: 1 year ago by Eric Lotze in topic Temperature

Degrees Fahrenheit, Celsius?

The general tone of the article looks more like advertising than scientific fact. What is the relevance of the cited sources? Claims that vapor cleaners effectively destroy bacteria, virii and fungi should be substantiated. Also, the last paragraph is worded in first person, against rule 14.2 of the Wikipedia MoS. --85.48.194.39 (talk) 04:59, 2 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I began to make changes to correct the ridiculous statement that 'it forms water vapors that are smaller than steam' and ended up giving Fahrenheit/Celcius values, removed material that was not neutral or relevant, and added a balance statement regarding the fact that a steam cleaner is not 100% green in that it requires a good amount of power to convert water into steam.--kradak (talk) 15:28, 21 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

References removed on 10/11 that referenced and linked to either retail sales sites or web sites that had google adwords ads posted on their page. COI, on both accounts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.8.27.34 (talk) 04:00, 12 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Is that a joke?

edit

"... when reaching temperatures of 150-170 degrees (2.1 radians)." Unless radians is now a measure of temperature, and degrees clearly means Celsius and not Kelvin, this statement needs far more than a citation. 69.168.144.139 (talk) 02:53, 4 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

You're absolutely correct. We'll express the conversion in terms of mils instead. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.25.84.115 (talk) 11:13, 3 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Temperature

edit
  • I got one of these a while back
  • I was messing around with one of those consumer grade "meat thermometers" and *barely* got to 100c
    • 100c when directly at the steam output *without* the scrubber thing
    • Less so once past the Fabric
  • Either way i have photos, and granted i'm no lab, and this may not effect sterilization as much, but i think mentioning the limits of these Flash Steam Generator home units compared to commercial Wet Steam Cleaners etc is an important distinction
  • Just saw this page in passing and remembered that tinkering, so i thought i'd drop that info here
