What? This says it was purchased for a dollar! Oh that's weird... it was.
It was acquired by British Petroleum in 1969, from the Chugach, for $1. Some natives contend that this was an illegal transfer.
The previously quoted section has been removed from the article from the following reasons:
- The statement is not clear as to exactly what was purchased and from whom.
- The Trans_alaska_pipeline was not constructed until the late 1970s, so the terminal was not in existance in 1969.
- Chugach did not exist as a corperate entity until the Alaska_Native_Claims_Settlement_Act of 1971.
