Story edit

I have added the background story of V.A.G rounded. The font had been in the public domain. Does anyone know how it became copyrighted?

Re "(Rundschrift is German for round writing) " Technically true. Rund = Round. Schrift = writing.

However, according to http://dict.leo.org/ende?lp=ende&lang=de&searchLoc=0&cmpType=relaxed&sectHdr=on&spellToler=on&chinese=both&pinyin=diacritic&search=schrift&relink=on:

Schrift = Font, lettering, script, scripture.

In this context: Schrift = Font. Rundschrift: Round font. VAG Round Font or simply VAG Rounded. ~~ BS —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.183.32.58 (talk) 16:50, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article states: "The meaning of V.A.G remains a mystery to this day." This seems ridiculous. Surely, with a typeface developed specifically for Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, It's not that big a mystery? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.72.144.119 (talk) 10:39, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

As I wrote down in the article, the official name of the company during the time, V.A.G. for "Volkswagen AG" could not be correctly, because the official name during this time was "Volkswagenwerk AG". The company was renamed to "Volkswagen AG" in 1985. --Holger1974 (talk) 20:31, 17 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Question moved from article page edit

I have moved this text from its inappropriate place on the article page to here:

(Information needed: How did Adobe acquire VAG rounded?)

Sedley Misplace edit

Correction to the correction: Sedley Place did not create the font, but they didn't create the V.A.G logo (that did not use the font) either, as erroneously stated in my editing comment. The logo was created by Wolff & Olins. Sedley Place was out of the VW business at the time. As V.A.G was launched in 1978, a font created in 1979 would have come a bit late. As stated correctly further down in the article, the font was created by GGK. Cannot have two parents. BsBsBs (talk) 09:56, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
