Third largest sport? edit
"V8 Supercars is Australia's third largest sport behind AFL Football and Cricket."
Beyond the obvious problem of defining what we mean by 'largest' (crowds? TV ratings? gross income? number of participants?), I doubt that this is correct. AFL and rugby league are at roughly the same level on most measures - not sure how they compare to cricket and the V8s, but league certainly doesn't rank below all three. --Nasica (talk) 06:23, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- It came from a much used study that ranked League equal third with motorsport (not V8 Supercar specifically so it included events like Australian rounds of Formula 1, MotoGP, World Rally, Champ Car and Superbikes) and behind AFL which was ranked #1 and Horse Racing at #2. - Quick google search found a reference to an Australian Bureau of Statistics report, aluded to here in a V8X article. The report was based on crowd attendances. --Falcadore (talk) 07:05, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
