Defending article against deletion edit

From author of article: Per instructions on the tag, I deleted the nomination for deletion tag because I do not agree with the assessment that the article lacks notability.

  • It was vetted prior to publication per Wiki guidelines at the time, and I received comments/input on it before publication.
  • The article was revised several times since with input from wiki editors.
  • Online banks are growing in popularity, re: Ally.com and other online-only banking entities.
  • I realize the article may be a bit boring or not of huge interest to all readers, but we are building a global wiki, which I define as encyclopedic in nature to include a broad variety and depth of topics. Personal interest, or non-interest, in a topic doesn't seem to be the best gauge, because it is so subjective.

Thanks for reading. Best regards Casey Miller, Dallas, TX 04:12, 8 August 2012 (UTC)— Preceding unsigned comment added by CAMiller62 (talkcontribs)

The appropriate guidelines for notability for this article are Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). As you will read, a company, "is notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in secondary sources." None of your points above help; this bank does not appear to be notable. Later. I have restored the three tags as none of these issues have been addressed. (Obviously the {{Proposed deletion}} tag stays deleted.) HairyWombat 05:48, 8 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Even later. Removed two tags as they were redundant; {{Notability}} says it all. HairyWombat 15:38, 8 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Later still. I have proposed that the article be merged into Beal Bank. Please contribute to the merge discussion at Talk:Beal Bank#Merge of UmbrellaBank.com. HairyWombat 15:59, 16 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Even later still. Merged. HairyWombat 16:38, 23 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
