GA review (see here for criteria)

  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose):   b (MoS):
    • The sentence "At the trumpet interchange, I-196/US 31 runs north from I-94 and passes to the west of the Point O'Woods Golf & Country Club and through farm fields." sounds awkward.
    • The sentence "North of this interchange, the freeway parallels A-2, a county road that follows the Blue Star Highway, the former route of US 31" is choppy and can be condensed.
    • "From there, it intersects the southern end of M-119 and passes through a pair of small towns. These communities of Conway and Oden border inland lakes like Round Lake and various bays of Crooked Lake." I would combine these two sentences.
    • "Less than 1⁄2 miles (0.80 km) east of the county line" the conversion needs to be fixed here.
    • "this change opened by the middle of 1949" sounds awkward.
    • "The next year, US 33 was extended northward from St. Joseph for about 10 miles (16 km)." do you mean US 31 here? Or both US 31 and US 33?
    • "The next year, the US 31 freeway was extend north into Oceana County to New Era.[52][53] In 1976, this freeway was extended further to Hart." you use the verb "extend" in two consecutive senteces. Also the tense is off in the first instance.
    • "In 1989, the freeway was completed to the south side of Ludington.[62][63] The next year, Ludington was bypassed, completing the freeway to its current northern end at US 10 east of town.", you use the verb "complete" in two consecutive sentences.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references):   b (citations to reliable sources):   c (OR):
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects):   b (focused):
    • Maybe you should mention the state highways US 31 replaced in the lead.
    • You should mention where the northern terminus of US 31 was when it crossed the straits via the ferry in the lead.
    • What was the last section of US 31 to be paved?
    • "When I-196 was completed between Holland and Grandville in 1974,[50] the BL I-196 designation was applied along US 31 and BUS US 31" to what extent was the BL I-196 designation applied on these routes and where?
    • "This section was extended further into Mason County in two stages" this sentence seems to imply that the St. Joseph Valley Parkway was extended into Mason County when it is nowhere near there.
    • Is the detail about M-231 really relevant to the purpose of the US 31 article?
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales):   b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
You should get the map fixed as it is missing Canada and seems to imply there is a big ocean to the northeast of Michigan.
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

I will put the article on hold for fixes to be made. Dough4872 04:57, 16 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Fixes applied for all but the map. Imzadi 1979  07:36, 16 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
I will pass the article. Hopefully the map can be fixed in the future. Dough4872 01:32, 18 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
