18 inch screen
editI have an 18 inch diagonal monitor and 18 inches is not listed on this chart. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.62.136.15 (talk) 22:17, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- You can calculate it and contribute with your results to the table. Mikael Häggström (talk) 08:02, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
Move this page to "Display size"
editCould someone move this page to "Display size" which is a better name considering other names on wiki, Display aspect ratio, Display resolution and so on./Oilosiso (talk) 22:00, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
The formulas seem wrong
editHeight = Height/ Width is probably wrong. 76.21.107.221 (talk) 07:34, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
Measuring Size
editHow do you measure the size of a curved display? Is the size the length of the curved line from corner to corner or the straight one?
Coloring of the chart?
editIs there an easy way to alternate background colors in the chart to make it easier to read? Belltower (talk) 23:24, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
External Links to Blogspot
editThe History section has two external links to flatpaneldisplay.blogspot.co.uk, presumably added as advertising for this site. I think they should be removed but I'm not 100% on Wikipedia's standards. 193.37.225.60 (talk) 16:51, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
Logical image size?
edit“It is also sometimes called the logical image size to distinguish it from the "logical image size," which describes a screen's display resolution and is measured in pixels.”
This doesn't make sense.
Chart is incorrect.
editChart is incorrect or difficult to read. A 20" 16:9 is not around 44 cm horizontally. The numbers are wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.110.8.114 (talk) 22:37, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
All of the sizes are wrong. The inch sizes are overstated and the metric sizes instead of being true to a measured value are just converted from inches by a factor of 2.54. My class 32 screen has a diameter of 80 cm, not 81 according to the chart. Don't expect any corrections, someone wants to propagate the idea that these sets are made in inches. --Ametrica (talk) 12:10, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
Tables
editThese would be better displayed in a vertical, rather than horizontal, sequence. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.125.85.117 (talk) 13:27, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
Counties That Measure Screens in Centimeters Instead of Inches
edit- According to the Metrication article, it mentions that some counties such as France and South Africa, centimeters are often used for television sets, whereas CRT computer monitors and all LCD monitors are measured in inches.
- In addition, according to the Korean units of measurement article, the Korean Measure Act that went into effect on July 1, 2007 empowered the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards of the Ministry of Commerce to begin immediately levying fines of up to ₩500,000 for commercial use of the pyeong and don, with less common units enjoying a longer grace period. The ban also included use of American units, such as describing the display size of televisions and computer monitors in terms of inches. As a result, screens for TVs and computer monitors are likely measured in centimeters in South Korea now.
- Although still technically measuring screens in inches in Japan according to the Japanese units of measurement article, they label the screen sizes by "type" (型, gata).
Would this info be important enough to add to this article? --JCC the Alternate Historian (talk) 21:20, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
- This "talk" section should say "countries" instead of "counties." KKelvinThompson (talk) 17:23, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
The link to "bezel" is unhelpful
editThe link to "bezel" redirects to Display device … which actually has no mention of "bezel" at all! Bezel is pretty important is discussions of monitor screen size. Could somebody add a discussion – somewhere – of bezel? KKelvinThompson (talk) 17:27, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
