Thanks, but this is not good enough. Please see WP:V, WP:CITE and WP:RS. Even if the sources are provided, the removal of the POV tag was not justified. The article is still very far from NPOV: it reflects only Islamic POV. See WP:NPOV. ←Humus sapiens ^ну? 01:44, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Someone removed it. I restored it.

The fact that Mecca could not oppose Muhammad & followers makes one wonder why they would have broken the treaty as they are said to have done. A cynical mind would think it more likely that Muhammad noticed their breach at the same time he noticed they were unable to defend themselves.

Most scholars agree that alcohol was prohibited in the same year as Hudaybiyyah (628 CE). First, Muslims were told they should not come to prayer while intoxicated (4:43). When 'Umar prayed for clearer guidance, the Prophet recieved verses 5:90-91, saying that alcohol was an abomination and Satan's handiwork. [1]
