I'll be doing some light copy editing as I go along, please check to make sure I didn't mess anything up.

  • I'm unsure about the Oak Lawn image. Just because its old, doesn't mean its PD. The licensing tag you've got on there is from the date of publishing, not the date the photo was taken. I'm not finding any proof in the source demonstrating that it was published before 1925. I can ping someone in for a second opinion, if you'd like.
The source says the photo was taken around 1900 and that it's from the Library of Congress photo database. APK whisper in my ear 20:27, 1 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
It'll be okay for GA, but expect to be asked to provide a little more information on the file description if you take this above GA-level
  • Some of the details from the lead are not verified in the body. For instance:
    • ". It included a large four-story Second Empire house" - Body doesn't mention four stories

    • "The tree remained until 1953 when it was felled for a planned parking lot." - Body doesn't mention a parking lot here
Done Good catch, thanks. APK whisper in my ear 20:27, 1 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
    • "The estate was bounded by 19th Street, Columbia Road, Connecticut Avenue, and Florida Avenue, on the edge of today's Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan neighborhoods" - Not verified in the body

  • "The Treaty Oak was a 350-400 year old oak tree" - MOS:DASH wants an endash, not a hyphen there.
Done APK whisper in my ear 20:27, 1 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • "Magdalena named her daughter Gwawa, which meant "hope"" - In what language?
The source doesn't say which language. Wikipedia says they spoke the Piscataway language but I don't see a source mentioning that in relation to the tree. APK whisper in my ear 20:27, 1 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
That's fine, sometimes stuff just isn't stated in the RS.

That's about all I can find to pick on here. Good work, placing on hold. Hog Farm Bacon 19:33, 1 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
