Message to De728631: again, please stop behaving as self-appointed police. I created and wrote this article. And then I'm accused of vandalism? Sorry, no, HaeB, with nothing to contribute, is the vandal. The article provides a DOC link - the standard reference for tramping in New Zealand. See virtually every other article in tramping in New Zealand. I consider references to tourist guidebooks and the like inappropriate for these articles, due to the misinformation and sweeping generalizations made by such sources.

If, as is probable, neither HaeB nor De728631 have ever set foot in New Zealand, I would suggest that they are not qualified to contribute to this article. --Zaqrfv (talk) 21:13, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

As an experienced New Zealand editor (but no, I haven't walked that track) I would just like to point out that the tagging of this article as unreferenced is entirely appropriate. Notability in Wikipedia is established by the existence of reliable (i.e. not someone's blog or a user-contributed site), independent secondary sources. The DOC website probably counts as a primary/non-neutral source, since they have a vested interest in the track. It is appropriate to leave the DOC links as external links. Simple physical facts (such as coordinates, locations of huts etc) may use primary sources. Other statements should cite some secondary sources. Are there not reputable tramping websites in NZ who have reviewed the walkway? dramatic (talk) 00:11, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
