European codes
editI think model codes are not 100% correct, at least for Europe.
Have a look here: http://obdtester.com/tocom-eculist/toyota/corolla_%28eur%29
ADE / NDE / etc are model codes for Corolla, however there is one more letter (E at the end is Corolla platform).
- Toyota uses teh same coding scheme for all markets. But the article hasn't documented the changes made in the 1990s when Toyota started using 2 letter engines and/or two letter platform codes. In your examples, AD stands for the AD engine family and E stands for the Corolla platform. So together they make the ADE code. Likewise for ND engine plus E platform for NDE. See List of Toyota platforms. I will try to document the newer codes in this article but I'm busy, so it may take me a few weeks (remind me if I forget). Stepho talk 23:02, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
- A few weeks have past now, User:Stepho-wrs, so a reminder is maybe not be to early? ;) ⛐Boivie (talk) 08:05, 5 April 2016 (UTC)
