Talk:Tingle's Balloon Fight DS

Name edit

This page name is pretty ridiculous. I'd move it myself, but it seems to have gone back and forth a few times, so. "Tingle's Balloon Fight DS" isn't a "fan translation", that's how it appeared in promo images of the box art before the final version was released - ie that's the official English rendering of the name according to Nintendo, and that would make far more sense as a page name. Or if you feel you really, really have to use the Japanese name, at least romanise it properly - it's "Balloon Fight", not "Barūn Faito". Calling the page "Chinkuru no Barūn Faito" makes as much sense as calling the Dragon Quest VI page "Doragon Kuesto VI" because it hasn't been released in English. Source edit

The new found information seems to not have any source or proof, please state it now, you have 3 days before I revert it back to normal. - User:Luigi128 1:18, 29 December (UTC)

Is that a picture of the Japanese cart? edit

If so, it's odd that they used the US version of his name for the english text. I mean there's no particular reason to do so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.72.20.191 (talkcontribs) 05:53, 6 March 2007

I don't know why they did it. It's the correct, official one though, as you can see on the official website. JackSparrow Ninja 17:47, 6 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

That's just the way the Japanese are. They put the title of things larger in English, because they are smart enough to know that not everyone in the world can read Japanese.Link's Awakening 05:56, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why would they bother putting English on the cover of a Japanese only release? Besides, the English isn't on the final version of the cover. Takuthehedgehog 15:53, 27 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Addition of New Information edit

I purchased the game recently, and thus had some new information to add to the largely undeveloped article regarding the image gallery and the three play modes. 68.217.93.156 00:01, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Zelda references edit

Just wondering, do the references really qualify as Zelda references? Seems to me that all of the references are just content related to Tingle (Rupees, Tingle's Brothers, Tingle's Balloon, and Tingle's Tower). - A Link to the Past (talk) 18:21, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I would say yes. All the references are content related to Tingle, but they're pulled from various Zelda games. This does go to show that, at the very least, this Tingle is very obviously inspired by the characteristics created for him in the various Zelda games. It's not as if they created a separate game where Tingle is a crazed, blood thirsty mutant teddy bear that's completely unrelated to the Zelda-Tingle in any way. But then, I put the section together, so I shouldn't be the one to make this call. TheUncleBob (talk) 14:35, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I would say that it's related to Tingle exclusively - that is, if the section were in reference to Zelda content, it wouldn't be exclusively Tingle-related. Arguably, Tingle's became pretty separate from Zelda, what with this and Freshly Picked Tingle. Since all of this is Tingle-related, they should be treated as references of Tingle, not Zelda. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Merge with Tingle Page? edit

I removed the merger proposal tag - the idea simply did not have consensus. Additionally, I'm not sure the reasoning for the initial proposal was very solid to begin with. The article is no longer "just a stub" and the "fact" that the game was a Club Nintendo only release a.) shouldn't matter and b.) isn't true. The fact that this is one of the first Tingle spin-off games, is the first Balloon Fight game in years and has close ties with such a wildly popular series says to me, at least, that this article is something worth having. TheUncleBob (talk) 14:43, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

The problem is that there's very little coverage of it. It has very basic gameplay that is based on Balloon Fight's, no sales information that could be spoken of, and very few reviews of it. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler!
