Talk:They Called Her Babylon (album)

Could anyone with access to the album check whether or not Diversus and Lazarus is a variant of the traditional Child Ballad Dives and Lazarus, labelled Child 56? I'm especially thinking of the second one of the two variants Child records, since there the rich man is called 'Diverus', which is rather close to 'Diversus'. That Child ballad variant begins:

1. As it fell out upon one day,
Rich Diverus he made a feast,
And he invited all his friends,
And gentry of the best.
2. And it fell out upon one day,
Poor Lazarus he was so poor,
He came and laid him down and down,
Evn down at Diverus' door.

If this indeed is a variant of the Child ballad, then a reference to it should be added at the Dives and Lazarus page. JoergenB 04:49, 8 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
