Reviewer: hamiltonstone (talk) 02:04, 17 March 2010 (UTC) This article is generally excellent, well-structured, well-referenced (though see below), and stylishly written. All images appear to be in order. The article is neutral and stable. I am going to pass it as meeting the GA criteria, but do wish to identify two issues that I would recommend be resolved:Reply

  • The paragraph that begins "Facing an ultimately detached nature, the characters come to find solace in human solidarity" - apart from this sentence just quoted appears either to be original research or lacks a relaible source for the points it makes. It is a discussion of Crane's story, so Crane's story cannot itself be a reliable source. Thus there is actually no source at all for poitns such as "are often referred to collectively as "the men", rather than singularly by their professions, creating a silent understanding between them of their togetherness." and "Survival is also an important thematic element in and of itself, as it is contingent upon the men to battle the elements in order to save themselves." This must be fixed.
  • This sentence needs a cite (specifically the point about sales): "Although the story and its subsequent eponymous collection received high praise from contemporary critics and authors, the volume sold poorly."

Otherwise excellent. hamiltonstone (talk) 02:04, 17 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks so much for the review, Hamiltonstone! You're quite right about the need for additional sources, especially in the specific areas you note. I'll be sure to work on these and the other comments on the talk page before proceeding further. Thanks again. :) María (habla conmigo) 12:27, 17 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
