Can anyone confirm whether Mic Jagger performed with the New Barbarians at Knebworth in August of 1979. I was at the concert and think he did but I might have imagined it.
- he didn't. Sugar Blue guested with them on a couple of numbers, though, and Stanley Clarke was replaced by Philip Chen. Sssoul (talk) 15:01, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

The Milwaukee Concert edit
The local radio station (WQFM?)that was promoting the show, annouced for two weeks in advance that a "Special Guest" would be appearing with The New Barbarians. In these advertisements names were mentioned such as Mick Jagger, Neil Young and Jimmy Page. Having attended that show,nobody outside The New Barbarians appeared. I did recognize Ron Wood, Keith Richards and Stanley Clark. Bobby Keys was there and had an awesome solo.
The show started slow with some songs from Ron Wood's latest solo effort. The group looked like they all had just woken up, unshaven, hair disheveled and bleery-eyed. Only Ron Wood managed to produce a smile. They sounded like shit at first but as the show progressed the solos and the songs began to come together and they were producing tremendous energy. The place was rockin'-on-fire and everybody was standing. They did a most exteneded and unequaled version of Jumpin' Jack Flash that had the arena roaring for more.
Then they all just set down their instruments and walked off stage. From my vantage point I could see them enter a limosine as a promotional radio DJ went to the microphone and announced that they would play an encore. I then saw her run to the limosine as the door closed. A window rolled down and she tried to stick her head in the window and was hit in the face with a towel. At that moment the limosine sped off and the show was over. All the while fans were shouting and jumping up and down for an encore.
Fans who were shouting for more began to realize that there was not going to be an encore and became angry. As the stage crew started to break down the stage and equipment, some fans then threw chairs at the stage crew. One was hit with an empty pint bottle. Then all hell broke loose on the floor.
It was one of the best rock shows I have ever attended.

1974 "First Barbarians" Video edit
In 2007 a package was released by Ron Wood's Wooden label which included both a DVD video and CD audio recording of a 1974 concert under the title "The First Barbarians - Live From Kilburn." This was a one-off concert to promote Ron Wood's first solo record "I've Got My Own Album to Do." The lineup consists of Ron Wood, Keith Richards and Faces keyboardist Ian McClaglen, along with Willie Weeks (bass) and Andy Newmark (drums). Rod Stewart also appears briefly.
Richards, Wood and McClaglen are the only members of the later (1979) New Barbarians to appear in this 1974 lineup. Vpfritz (talk) 07:10, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
