Talk:The Chemistry Set (British band)

Untitled edit

Hi,

Just tried to post an entry for the English band The Chemistry Set (who existed long before the Dallas based band of the same name, and despite less chart success, have been granted a Wikipedia page!).

I received a message stating that the band is not notable enough. However, they do meet your criteria on several levels:

Had a Top 20 hit in the UK with the single "Don't Turn Away"

Had a Top 20 hit in Spain's national charts with the same single

regularly played on John Peel's BBC (ie, national) radio show

appeared on Tony Wilson's BBC 2 (ie, national) television show, 100%

now regularly being played (as well as interviewed) on RTE3, Spain's NATIONAL radio station, along with 12 other stations in Spain

currently played on BBC 6 Music (ie, National station)

release two records and a track on a compilation album on IMAGINARY RECORDS, an indie label you feel important enough to give a Wikipedia entry.

Can you please clarify why you feel that this band is not meeting your "Notability Requirements"?

Thanks,

Lx

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV edit

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 23:45, 26 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
