GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose):   b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
How does a highway help connect two other highways? Why is Loop 118 even needed? You mention in the lead that the route was redesignated in 1996, but don't mention it again. Get rid of "just" in "just a two-lane road". The two times you said west, you meant east. Are the sidewalks really relevant to the route? According to the references you provided, the route begins along Denton Street; it neither touches Travis Street nor the roundabout. That means the second, third, and fourth sentences of the route description are all describing roads that are not along the route.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references):   b (citations to reliable sources):   c (OR):
It appears to me that you did not actually look at the references you cite. If you look at the 45º view of Roanoke on Google Maps, you can clearly see the Loop 118 sign assembly at the interesection of US 377 and Denton. Both TXDOT maps cited confirm this. The Denton County General Highway Map reference's date should be March 1, 1996, but doesn't that mean it should show the old route? It doesn't, so you can't use it to cite TXDOT decommissioning the old route. The TXDOT Map Book shows SH 114 Business as K, not L. SH 114's article confirms this.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects):   b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales):   b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
Do you have a picture of the route? After two minutes of looking at Roanoke on Google Maps, I was able to determine that the picture of downtown Roanoke is not actually along the route. It's four blocks south of the corner of Denton and Oak. Map
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
Like I said above, it doesn't look like you looked at the references you cited. Based on that, I cannot pass this article at this time. That being said, I do not think this article would pass if it were nominated at WP:AFD. I would work on the list of state highway loops and then merge this article into that list. –Fredddie 06:53, 11 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
