hmm... this is more of a broadcaster's tool, not something a viewer can use.
Notable uses of telop:
- Sports - the logos of teams and scores are displayed on telop before broadcast
- Weather - a combo of telop + blue screen
- Japanese variety/comedy shows - Japanese variety and comedy shows make extensive use of telop.

editI didn't want to completely erase the previous edit on this topic, but it was almost entirely the memories of someone who had worked a Telop machine. Unfortunately, that's not a verifiable source, and I think the poster also had a fuzzy memory and got a number of the facts wrong. Therefore, I have reformatted the article.
