Is this the same as a Software Requirements Specification? If not, what is the difference? --jonon 14:33, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- Not IMHO and I believe not in the eyes of the IEEE organisation. A system requirements specification covers more than just software. IEEE standard 1233-1998 states that a system requirements specification is a set of requirements that when realised, satisfies an express need. So is this a business item? A technology item? An economics thing? Saying that
A System Requirements Specification is a document where the requirements of a system that is planned to be developed are listed.
seems inadequate. What kind of descriptive doc? What is it describing? What kind of system? What cat would this belong to? The intro is just not providing adequate info for someone unfarmiliar with this topic. I'm not even certain I could Google this to figure out what it is... ZueJay (talk) 04:20, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
