Title of this show
Please note that this particular show does not follow the convention used for all of the other Macross shows. As the box cover shown on the page very clearly shows, the title is "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II: Lovers Again" (or "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II: The Movie"). - Actually, the current US DVD cover doesn't say the first title. The current US DVD cover has an abbreviated title (no "The," "Lovers," or "Again"). The full title, The Super Dimension Fortress Macross II: Lovers, Again, follows the previous convention and is written on previous LD and DVD releases, including this one:

- It's similar to the reason why The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? is listed in Wikipedia under that full title instead of the abbreviated "Super Spacefortress Macross", "Superdimensional Fortress Macross" or "Macross: Do You Remember Love?"—the names written on several other official releases. — Egan Loo 04:21, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
- That's the Japanese release, not the US release. Using the Japanese DVD cover does nothing to support your point. If you look at the US cover, it clearly says "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II: The Movie", so if anything, that title should be used if you want to be a stickler about it. Endlessly reverting everything I do is just plain stupid. Here's the link to the US cover:

- Keep in mind that the full original title of The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? doesn't appear on the US releases either, so by that tenuous line of thinking above, one would also insist that the title of that Wikipedia entry be reduced to "Super Spacefortress Macross" or "Macross: Clash of the Bionoids" (as several English covers "clearly say").
- On a side note, "The Movie" is just a title add-on to indicate the US compilation--it wasn't used previous to this, and is no more part of the original title than the recent "Indiana Jones and the" Raiders of Lost Ark: "Chapter 24" release. - Yes, I'm fully aware that "The Movie" wasn't part of the original English title as I used to own the original English release from US Renditions. I picked it up almost as soon as it was released. If you want to go with the full original title, it should be the full original official ENglish title, as used by US Renditions in the first official English release. You can check out one of the original covers here:
- If we always used the English title provided by the Japanese company that produced the show, we'd have to really wacked out titles. A much better method is to use the official English title as used by the licensees. --nihon 16:49, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
- The catch with its US releases is that they used its abbreviated title. The first, original, uncensored English edition of The Book of One Thousand and One Nights still used the popularized adapted, abbreviated title "Arabian Nights," but Wikipedia lists this work under the original title instead.
- Fortunately, Macross projects are one case where the original English titles are more consistent, more complete, and (in the instance of the first movie) less "whacked out" than their abbreviated, adapted titles. Egan Loo 19:58, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
