Should finish this one within a couple of days, after I've got some other GARs out of the way! Jaguar 20:02, 13 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry this one is taking so long - I have limited internet access. I'll complete this by tomorrow morning! Jaguar 21:02, 15 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Initial comments edit

  • The lead summarises the article well and complies per WP:LEAD, so it meets the GA criteria. I would suggest (if you plan on FACing this) to include a little more on its interior and type of celebrities who visited (like mentioned in the Waldorf lead), but it's fine for this GAN!
Have added to this. We hope (talk) 18:26, 17 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "just down the block from Billingsley's apartment" - this sounds a little informal (to me anyway), or is the term 'block' used in New York a lot? We don't use those words in ol' Hampshire!!
Changed this to just down the street We hope (talk) 16:33, 17 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Should Stork Club be italicised all the way throughout the article? It is in italics at the begenning of the lead and History section, but never again throughout
I think I've made this consistent. We hope (talk) 17:10, 17 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "Prohibition agents closed the original club on December 22, 1931, and it moved to East 51st Street for three years" - did the prohibition agents themselves move the club or did Billingsley?   Done We hope (talk) 16:28, 17 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "City tax accountants soon investigated the Stork" - does 'the' need to be italicised here? It isn't called The Stork Club?   Done We hope (talk) 17:10, 17 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "Billingsley's original plan for the Cub Room was for it to be a private place for playing gin rummy with his friends" - can this be linked? (If such an article exists)   Done We hope (talk) 16:26, 17 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • A little WP:OVERLINK in Clientele and image section, but it should be OK to let go as the majority of people listed there seem to be very notable
Have removed some double links. We hope (talk) 17:14, 17 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

On hold edit

Sorry for the delay, it has never taken me this long to review an article as I have been having computer issues. Overall this is a well written article, I enjoyed reading it and that's the qualities of a Good Article. The comments I mentioned above were relatively minor, but I'll leave this on hold until all of the above can be addressed. Thanks! Jaguar 16:17, 17 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Jaguar: Seems to have all been addressed by the good WH!♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:46, 17 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
