Surprised that this species doesn't have a more filled article

Spring peepers are one of (if not the) most abundant frog species where I'm from in Missouri. I know a few people doing research on this species as well (like the folks leading Project FrogWatch at the St. Louis Zoo). I feel like this article could benefit from more specific information regarding mating behaviors--since that is the subject of a lot of study--as well as separate categories on "enemies" (predators, parasites, diseases) and "interactions with humans and livestock" as I know the spring peeper is showing concerning declines in specific areas. Wiki Education assignment: Behavioral Ecology 2022

Overall this article has amazing organization and covers a good amount of information under each section. The writing is also very clear. Along with that, the visuals displayed throughout made the descriptions better.

The only subsection that I thought could be expanded was the juvenile diet subsection only because of its length. I like how the mating sections and physiology sections have many subsections each making the sections easier to read. I also loved that there are sounds readers can play while reading. The amount of pictures throughout the article is also really nice and makes reading it more interesting. I moved around some of the paragraphs into new subsections I made under the same headings. I tried to explain this as well as I could when I submitted my edit. I thought some things could have been grouped together in order for the reader to understand it a bit better, so that is why I changed some of the subsections and headings. There are a lot of references in the article citing great facts, but I think the article would be more reliable if multiple sources with the same findings were cited throughout. Overall its looking amazing so far, so great job!

If people need a more detailed explanation of what I moved around so they know nothing was lost, it is provided in this paragraph. I did not think “vocalization” was a subsection name listed in the frog outline template under the mating header. Since this subsection covers mating calls, I thought this writing should go in the “mate searching behavior subsection”. The paragraph in the “mate searching behavior” subsection previously describes more development of calling with a timeline versus the actual act of searching for a mate, so I thought this paragraph could be moved to the reproduction and life cycle subsection. I added the subsections “brood size” and “lifespan” to the “reproduction and life cycle” section. This then allowed me to move the paragraph under “mating searching behavior” to “life-span” and the “vocalization” paragraph to be moved under “mate searching behavior”. I also took some of the original writing in the “reproduction and life cycle” section that described their life timeline and paired it with the previous “vocalization” paragraph in the new “life-span” subsection. I also thought that the second half of the original “reproduction and life cycle” paragraph starts talking about female mate choice and attempts of males to attract mates, so I moved this to a new subsection in the female/male interactions section I added called “courting”. I also put the paragraph already under female/male interactions in the new subsection I made under that heading called “mate choice”.Eregwustl (talk) 24:05, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
