merger

edit

I oppose the merging of these two articles. I come to Wikipediea when i need something fast and i don't want to dredge through long articles about something unrelated to find a single fact. Instead, i suggest that the two be linked in the classic Wiki fashion -- 06:26, 8 December 2005‎ 67.181.250.132

I'd have to agree. I came to this page researching individual terms for a class, and if there were not a "spot resolutions" page, I would have been stymied.

If they have to be merged, though, I'd say this page should redirect to Lincoln, but linking is better.

Also agree, keep it linked. -- 19:13, 11 December 2005‎ 68.33.145.139

Just want to mention...I believe that Congress had already declared War on Mexico by the time Lincoln presented his Spot Resolutions. According to my source, COngress declared war on May 13, 1846, (Bauer, The Mexican War). -- 01:36, 24 April 2007‎ 68.5.155.9

DEFINE 'Spot Resolution'

Don't just list instances of Spot Resolutions; DEFFINE what exactly makes something a Spot Resolution. 162.207.203.26 (talk) 18:01, 11 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

It seems quite clear from the article: Asking the United States executive branch to formally determine whether the place where the fighting which led to the Mexican-American war started was legally part of Texas before annexation, and so part of the U.S. after annexation.
