. . .

kia orana all, I am afraid my visual skills are just not up to -what?- 59 icons in one tool bar.

As a burnt out old hack, I'll stick to what I do best, tracking stuff down, and you whizz kids can knock yourself out putting it into that awesome wikipedia interwebby thang, all in favour?

Here's the update info + links on the new Speaker of the Cook Islands Parliamenthttp://www.parliament.nz/en-NZ/ParlSupport/ResearchPapers/0/4/4/00PlibOPN11021-Overseas-parliamentary-news-February-2011.htm

Speaker elected

The Prime Minister nominated former Prime Minister Sir Geoffrey Henry for election as Speaker of the new Parliament. The Speaker may either be a sitting member or, like Sir Geoffrey, someone outside Parliament who is qualified to be a member. Since an amendment to the constitution in 2001, only the Prime Minister's nominee may be elected Speaker. A former Speaker expressed disappointment at the choice of a non-elected member for the role.
