However, at 1968, the white rhino trophy hunt has been legalized which threatened the endangered species.[6]
Almost at the edge of extinction in the 20th century, the southern white rhinoceros has made a tremendous comeback.
That citation([6]) shows that legalizing the rhino trophy hunt was an important part of why it made a "tremendous comeback" — once they got the incentives right for the game ranchers, so the first sentence is almost the opposite of what the citation is establishing, and the population graph in the citation also shows a population only rising since 1968.
Promoting the idea that legalizing the trophy hunt is threatening the endangered species would be what the citation is disproving: "despite clear evidence that strong property rights and market incentives constitute the most sensible model for rhino conservation in Africa, many international conservationists and policymakers do not recognize this. through institutions such as CITES, they continue to pursue a command-and-control approach that depends on regulations or bans to restrict wildlife use". I think the citation should be kept — it's quite informative, but the negativity toward legalizing the hunt should be removed from the wiki article Treer (talk) 04:08, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
