Who can supply more info? edit

A very sparse treatment of a group that was quite popular in the 1950's. Who can supply more information? For example, what was Smith's real name? It's doubtful that his parents named him "Somethin'". Were they all real redheads, or was that just a gimmick? 76.227.76.58 (talk) 05:26, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

My name is James Muir (known as Scotty) I emigrated from Scotland in 1973. Over there I spent my leisure time entertaining in small clubs around my area singing my heart out singing all kinds of music. When I moved here to Cincinnati I was always singing where ever I could. I first got involved with "Something Smith" when I frequented the Old Saloon in Kenwood where I met the only two remaining members of the group. They were Saul Striks on piano and Ralph Guenther on bass & banjo, these were some of the best times I ever spent, until the place was badly damaged by fire. Shortly after the fire, Saul and his wife Debbie went to Chicago on business and sadly he passed away in their hotel room that night. All I know about the group was very small I was told that there was either for or five musicians.and Saul had an artificial leg obtained when he ditched his small plane somewhere out West when he was returning from a Gig! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.185.19.76 (talk) 03:54, 7 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
