The previous introduction stated the both the SW99 and P99 are manufactured Smith & Wesson and Walther, which is incorrect. S&W did in fact manufacture the slide and barrel of the P99 at one point, but this was exclusive to the .40 S&W variants. Currently, P99's are exclusively manufactured in Germany; some confusion might arise from the importation marks on P99's which bear Smith & Wesson markings on the slide, but these are only importation markings.

I have revamped the previous article, making it more accurate. Grammar has been improved. I removed references to the Glock pistol present throughout the article as these are irrelevant. I added the three variations of the pistol and explained the differences between them. I added the SW99 manual from S&W as a reference. Added distinguishing design traits between the P99 and SW99.
