Can anyone out there tell me who made these garments and where they were made, when and for how long?

There are many manufacturers and brands of skisuits and snowsuits. Some of them have their own pages right here on Wikipedia. You can look at Category:Outdoor clothing brands. Like other companies in the fashion design business, many of them make new ranges of suits every year, as fashion evolves.

Why not? As long as noone (why don't you?) writes an article about that word, it is at least somewhat covered in this article. I don't think it would be worth it to write an arictle just about salopettes. -Ulla — 12:06, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Why? Because "salopettes" has become a widely used word for "long trousers" that is to say trousers which come up to just under the arms, typically held up by elastic straps over the shoulders and intended to form a waterproof joint with ankle or full length boots at the other end. Normally they go with a waterproof jacket of similar construction. They are used in mountaineering, and by several cliff rescue teams in the UK. They are also a vital garment in the fishing industry. Salopettes, called by any name you choose, have been in use pretty much since waterproof materials became widely avalable and are sold in "outdoor" shops all over the UK. Their origins have nothing to do with high priced, fancy coloured ski suits.

This article also has nothing to do with just "high priced, fancy coloured" ski suits, I think it deals with all sorts of ski suits. Drg40 has it correct. They're vastly different. However given that no-one has written such an article yet (and I certainly have no interest in doing so), there's no harm in it currently redirecting here. Race Suit

This section needs some citations or rework. On its face, the numbers given do not appear to make sense.
