The result was merge into Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau. -- — Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 19:13, 5 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I would like to discuss... Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau Siemens VAI

The issue here is that the "Siemens VAI" article covers the company history from inception, when that should be in "Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau" excluding a short abstract and main article link. Possible solutions include merging, deleting duplicated text, etc Mddkpp (talk) 06:56, 17 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Support The current company can be covered here, if there is any information worth keeping. Prior to the Siemens deal, the other article should cover it and to some extent already does. — Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 17:13, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment I've been looking for more information about the other company. If I can find sources I'll go ahead and do the merge of information from this article, which doesn't really have sources. Right now the other article (which I created) is a dumping ground for information that was irrelevant to the Voestalpine article. It's not really what a Wikipedia company article should be, and this article's information would be helpful in changing that.— Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 21:23, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment Okay, I didn't find what I thought I did. But somewhere out there is a history of this company that was formatted very much like the history of Voestalpine. I'll do some more research to see if I can find where that came from. A further complication is that an article I found contradicts this history of the company. But since the "Alpine" in the company name came after the supposed separation of the engineering division in 1956, this new version makes more sense. I hope I kept that article.— Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 18:57, 5 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merger (July 2017) edit

This company has merged with Primetals Technologies. It's not clear to me what should happen with the content that is here, but there really isn't enough to justify a separate article for a company no longer in existence. I was thinking part of the information could go in Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau and part of it could go in the Primetals article.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 15:10, 26 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

I think that just merging to Primetals Technologies would be better, linking the earlier history from the Primetals page (which is already there at Primetals Technologies#History of Siemens VAI Metals Technologies). Klbrain (talk) 08:44, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
