I don't like what's said in the external link "Shipka – The Pass, Monument, Village and Monastery" - "In 1878 it was Russia who rescued the Bulgarians from 500 years of Turkish rule." It is factually groundless and the entire story is much more complicated than bunch o slavonic Russians comming to the rescue of the poor Bulgarians.DemonX (talk) 21:03, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Former Street in Glasgow edit

I don't know if you would exactly call it an honour, but for many years, a small spiral lane in Glasgow, between Gallowgate and London Road bore the name Schipka Pass (sic), (perhaps reflecting in its orthography the 19th Century influence of Germanic culture); but without widespread awareness of its provenance. The street was sadly demolished in recent years, and the plot landscaped. Nuttyskin (talk) 22:31, 31 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Map? edit

Some kind of map that shows how this mountain works as a pass- its not obvious - would help. Something that might indicate how come it was so strategic would also be good. IceDragon64 (talk) 00:49, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
