Ad filming date

I have deleted the comment which stated that the ad was probably filmed in the "late 1970s", claiming that the decor, clothing and dancer's hairstyle indicate this. Clothing and decor from the late '70s to the early '80s in Britain were far too similar to make such a claim. The earliest the ad was filmed was 1979.

World Advertising Research Center Shake 'n' Vac info

Free information available online at the World Advertising Center states that the Shake 'n' Vac product was first sold in 1979, but that advertising across the ITV network was delayed until 1980 by the industrial action at ITV in 1979, which took the station off air for several months.

Well Done!

I thoroughly approve of the revamped article. I have made a few further small changes just to tidy things up a little. This has been a pop culture bone of contention in England and the rest of the UK for several years. It is good to see Wikipedia presenting the facts for future pop culture researchers.

My pleasure, I found the article and it was in an absolute mess, so I've made it into a proper article and added a number of citations to the facts, but I can't seem to find any more. If you can find any more citations please provide them. AndreNatas (talk) 22:25, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, never done this before, don't know the proper procedure, but I looked at this article because I was thinking about what this product is and how/if it works. Kirby's

In 1990, I worked for those lovely purveyors of vacuum-cleaning excellence, Kirby's. I was informed by them - and they were hardly the type of people to lie, with their excellent employment methods (which don't include lying to prospective "employees") - that Shake 'n' Vac is like sand, and is so granular that it acts like broken glass, slowly destroying your carpet every time you use it.
