Introduction
editThe article starts with a very broad and unfounded claim that suggests a continuous and turmoulous relations between Muslims from the very advent of Islam to the present day. Where is/are the citation(s) for this claim?
Bahrain
editI'm removing the section about Bahrain, because this article uses no sources. How can governmental crackdown on people be sectarian violence? Yes the government is Sunni and most of the people are Shia, but this also happened in many other countries of the Arab spring regardless of their sect. Bahraini Activist (talk) 14:21, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- This is the second time I write here. The section about Bahrain is completely incorrect and the reference doesn't say anything about sectarian violence. Violence wither it was from police or protesters doesn't equal sectarian violence. Bahraini Activist Talk to me 09:58, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
- next time, it would be better to ask for sources. I found one easily. Jeff Song (talk) 00:44, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
- I asked for sources, but no one provided them.
- All references you provided are for one minor incident on 4 March.
- You have called protests "riots" and the whole uprising "sectarian nature". This is clearly original research and shouldn't be used in Wikipedia.
- You have ignored or missed the fact that one of the most common slogans in the uprising is "We are brothers, Sunni and Shia, this country is not for sale"[1] and that there are Sunni activist against the government such as Mohammed Albuflasa and Ibrahim Sharif.

- No, you did not ask for sources, your firs edit on the article was to remove the section on Bahrain.64.71.23.234 (talk) 18:51, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, when I said there were no sources, that was asking to provide sources. It was removed because it didn't mention anything about sectarian clashes at first (so why bring it up here?), and when it was inserted again and said there were sectarian clashes, it had irrelevant references. Bahraini Activist Talk to me 19:55, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
- I have rewrote the paragraph to make it more balanced, check it out. Bahraini Activist Talk to me 15:23, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, but your rewrite is totally unacceptable. You have added your personal analysis that protests were "minor" when that word is not used by any of the sources, and replaced the well-sourced material that describes the protest as stemming from resentment by the Shi'ite majority of the ruling minority Sunnis with an unsourced statement about how they all "stress that, no matter what their denomination, they are all Bahrainis first and foremost". That's not how we write an encyclopedia. 64.71.23.234 (talk) 18:51, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

- I welcome your opinion and think that you should always stress it. I didn't refer to protests as minor, that was in reference to the sectarian clashes (compared to about 72 deaths and 2700+ injuries [1], 6 injuries are minor, aren't they?). I agree that the point about background of the uprising shouldn't be removed. That line you mentioned is referenced, perhaps you didn't read this article? it's right there in the references. Bahraini Activist Talk to me 19:55, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
- I've added a short background about the origins of protests, don't hesitate to discuss or to edit. Bahraini Activist Talk to me 20:12, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
Saudi Arabia
editWhy does the section only display quotes from the Grand Mufti and nothing about the violence that took place in the past and is still taking place to this day?--Nay1989 (talk) 15:49, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
