Talk:School years (United Kingdom)

I'm an American trying to understand the UK School System. Please fix any errors or omissions. -- DesertSteve 17:12 14 Jun 2003 (UTC)

I've fixed a few things and added upper/lower 6th. -- Tarquin 17:15 14 Jun 2003 (UTC)

Trouble is this doesn't describe the UK system since there isn't one. There are two: the Scottish system and the English one. This just describes the English system. -- Derek Ross 17:30 14 Jun 2003 (UTC)

Should there be a separate page for English and Scottish school systems, or add another chart to this page for the Scottish system? DesertSteve 17:34 14 Jun 2003 (UTC)

Since this page is basically a list, I've just added the Scottish system and some text to describe the differences. -- Derek Ross 18:31 14 Jun 2003 (UTC)

Does the school system in Wales differ from the one in England? -- DesertSteve 21:49 14 Jun 2003 (UTC)

As far as I'm aware, Wales uses the current English comprehensive education system, and Northern Ireland uses the old English pre-comprehensive system. However I'm a Scot and therefore have no direct experience of education in either of these countries. No doubt a Welshman or an Ulsterman will correct me if I'm wrong. -- Derek Ross 02:42 15 Jun 2003 (UTC)
