editI edited this page to reflect the fact that Fawbert & Barnard is an infant school, not a primary school.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.5.208.38 (talk) 00:28, 20 May 2006
inserted brief description of geology; linked to other pages; linked those pages where relevant back to Sawbridgeworth. The comment on Norman agricultural output I have heard before, and I will need to look up a source, but it is county not country. 60.231.25.10 Andrew r carter (talk) 09:31, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
Fluoroscope
editThe fluoroscope is a first hand eyewitness account. (myself). If you don't believe me, perhaps you should try talking to residents in the town? Yes, it seems incredible that such a device was still in use then, given 20+ years of serious doubts over their use, however, it should be borne in mind that Sawbridgeworth's location, rural yet close to London, in Hertfordshire and yet pushed up against the Essex border, full of a mixture of long standing residents and commuters, means that it often gets overlooked by bureaucracy. Schemes/fashions/trends that start in the cities take time to penetrate there; Hertfordshire CC often overlooks it; the long standing residents often ignore things that newcomers would respond in horror to (e.g.fluorscopes), but do most of their shopping elsewhere. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.223.106.13 (talk) 23:51, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
It checks out Andrew r carter (talk) 00:24, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- If it 'checks out', can you find a reference for it? Simply putting personal recollections on the site is, unfortunately, unencyclopaedic. It would need a reliable source. Stephenb (Talk) 07:07, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
