Matthew Farnes

A number of WP:spam and WP:COI inserts have been made a by a series of users, one specifically called Matthew Farnes, with regards Matthew Farnes. A quick search on Google presently shows insufficient references to support inclusion beyond a line in the Other tailors section. Does anyone have any references to support inclusion beyond the single line? Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 23:19, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

This is the only site - www.savilerow-style.com - that represents all the bespoke tailors of Savile Row and its environs. (The Savile Row Bespoke Association has just twelve members.) It provides regularly updated coverage on the Row and its craftmen and women, and is rather more pertinent for those seeking information on the Row than many other links provided on the Wiki Savile Row page. Yet the link to it has been removed. Is that helpful? Bainsfair (talk) 12:58, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

From first look, its a commercial magazine offering male style information over anything else, and descibes itself as: Each edition features reports on bespoke tailors, developments in and around Savile Row, latest cloths, male grooming and other topics of interest to men who want style and quality. There's nothing that ties it to Savile Row apart from its name, which seems commercial in choice over actually being endorsed or approved by any tailors. If you could provide information to backup your claims re the magazine, then it could be reconsidered - other wise its just seen as wP:SPAM link, and hence will continue to be removed. Anderson & Sheppard

Any reason why they've been removed from the list? Quodfui (talk) 02:56, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

The page is, as always, under a huge amount of spam-attack: people adding links and references that have nothing to do with Savile Row. Hence there is a debate on what should/should not be included in an article on Savile Row: just shops ON Savile Row (ie, Geography); or does it became about the geography and the tailoring industry associated with Savile Row? Anderson and Sheppard deserve their own seperate article, which is long over due - fancy a bit of writing? Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 17:58, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
I dragged back through old versions of the article to add some text, which should help. As members of the Savile Row Bespoke Association they should be included. Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 18:30, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
I have added in base text on all members of the Savile Row Bespoke Association, so this should cover the basics, plus those actually in Savile Row. Everyone else's inclusion is up for debate. Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 19:11, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

Adam Waite

I removed Adam Waite from the list, for two reasons. First, because he is not located on the Row; he's in Chiswick, miles west of the Row. And second, because (contrary to WP convention) his name in the list was linked directly to his website, rather than to a Wiki article on him. Bricology (talk) 08:13, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

Anthony Sinclair

Can I suggest a new article for Anthony Sinclair? They've had an awful lot of coverage since they were taken over by a new head. I'll create it myself if people don't think it'll be deleted. Douglasi (talk) 08:51, 24 September 2012 (UTC)

scabal

Hello, greetings from fr:, i'm curently looking for information about scabal, a cloth marchand/taillor who communicate a lot about his "savile row" heritage, in order to rewiew the french article scabal (fr)]. They mention they have a shop at n°12, Savile row, the same number as Chittleborough & Morgan acording to the en: article. As my english is not very good, and all the sources i find are in your language, could you confirm that Scabl is a bona fide "savile row tailor"?--Pif paf mad (talk) 17:05, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
