Wrong, wrong, wrong!
I can't edit yet, but Sam Adams is John Adams' FIRST cousin, not SECOND. Please edit.

- No, first cousins are people who share a grandparent, which John and Samuel did not do. Samuel's grandfather was Captain John Adams (1661–1702); John's grandfather was Joseph Adams (1654–1737). They shared a great-grandfather, Joseph Adams (1626–1694), making them second cousins. Even John Adams sometimes got confused on this point, by conflating the two Josephs (see Papers of John Adams, 1:352). —Kevin Myers 05:54, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
