The population of this Pyt. Halqa Sugen is 2466 souls comprising of only one village i.e., SUGEN. The total no. of households is 425 as per latest census conducted in 2001. Some people of this village speak Kashmiri as well as Pahadhi. The amenities in this village provided by the different sectors are detailed as under:- 1. Education Deptt :- There is one Middle School, two Primary Schools and two E.G.S. Centre providing the education to this habitation. These schools are headed by Shri Gh. Hassan Najar, Nusrat Ahmad Dar, Muzaffar Hussain Rezvi, Mohd Ashraf Wani and Nazior Ahmad Lone respectively. 2. Food Supply Depptt :- Food Supplies Deptt. provides their services to this village through one Food Sale Depot which is headed by Shri Gh. Mohd wani. 3. Social welfare Department :- The Social Welfare Deptt. Provides their services through 6 Anganwadi Centres located at different spots / Mohallas which supplement the nutrition requirement of the beneficiaries rolled therein. 4. Health Deptt :- The Health Deptt. provides health care both curative and preventive to the common people through one Sub-Centre. The village is lacking other amenities at zero distance, however the amenities which are available to them are detailed fully in the following chapter.
