Status of the project edit

Is the project still active? This website hasn't been updated for several months now... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.138.32.169 (talk) 17:05, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is life this week. For what it's worth. 32.114.192.54 (talk) 22:28, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

There was again some update. But I think this article is very misleading. As far as I know no version whatsoever (of STIX) was ever released to the public...--Hades32 (talk) 23:49, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I propose that XITS font project be merged into STIX Fonts project. I think that the content in the XITS article can easily be explained in the context of STIX (after all XITS is closely related to STIX), and the STIX article is of a reasonable size in which the merging of XITS will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. I see your point, however I would like to keep them separated. Reason for this is that the XITS font project has a completely different approach. It is an very active forked or patched version which also support each release of STIX. It is not a one time action as for example the TrueType conversion of STIX. The XITS font project has a different designer, license, release cycle, release dates, etc. At the moment the article is still small will grow later on. The reason for keeping them separated is similar as why Firefox and GNU IceCat have each their own article. PanderMusubi (talk) 14:32, 12 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'm against this proposal. XITS seems to be an actively maintained project, recently updated on 2011-Jul-13 (retrieved from CTAN), While STIX font never supports OpenType math extensions and lacks TeX port. These two projects definitely cannot be treat as one. You can treat these two as SPSS and PSPP, which also have similar names. --LunarShaddowღIvy (talk) 04:18, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Although here is not a forum about fonts, the discussion at MediaWiki talk:Common.css #Definitions for class="texhtml" is topical. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 19:15, 8 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
