EXPANSION AND CLEAN UP

edit

Please do not vandalise my hard work to clean-up this article which was quite haphazard before. All edits, please justify. Deadjune1 13:30, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm removing one of links as it leads to an internal page of a neo-nazi group.Donkay ote (talk) 16:25, 14 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

designed by fashion designer Hugo Boss. I really doubt that statement. Boss produced uniforms, but to claim the design for him? The design was used also in the Luftwaffe and is not that new or ground-breaking.--Tresckow 09:28, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Most aesthetic

edit
It can be seen that these uniforms were the most aesthetic uniforms to be produced, although hold an evil connotation.

I can't see how this claim could be substantiated in any way; most aesthetic by what standard? I'm removing this, if there will be no objections. Naphra 17:35, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Removed. Also added {{Fact}} to the claim that they are the most popularized uniforms. Naphra 14:09, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:LSAH.jpg

edit

Image:LSAH.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

need citation for this

edit

The uniform is a replica of that worn by the Massachusetts State Police. There is speculation that the SS uniform design was suggested by Nazi propagandist Ernst Franz Sedgwick Hanfstaengl a Harvard University graduate and author of many of the school's football fight songs. Hanfstaengl wrote both Brownshirt and Hitler Youth marches patterned after his Harvard football songs and, he later claimed, to have devised the chant, "Sieg Heil". This connection aside, the coincidence is, otherwise, inexplicable. The Massachusetts State Police have not responded to inquiries specific to the similarities--acknowledging this connection would not lend itself well to a positive public image. While no malfeasance exists on the State Police's part, one can imagine the enhanced, satirical characterization of the state troopers as "Nazis" that the media would seize upon.

Does the above information really require a citation? Isn't it really more of a common sense observation melded with fact from other Wiki pages?

The Mass State Police winter dress uniform IS exact (other than colors) to the SS uniform. The MSP uniform PRE-DATES Nazism... Everyone knows about the Nazi's who did their undergrad study at Harvard, and subsequent scandals. Must everything be cited?

As MSP Det. Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon) said to a uniformed MSP trooper in 'The Departed,' "Do you like going to work everyday dressed like you're gonna invade Poland?"
