Talk:SIG Sauer P230

Latest comment: 8 years ago by NutritianMagician in topic P232

Possible topics for expansion edit

  • History; Sig/Sauer joint venture
  • P230 vs. P232 (probably best left to someone who is actually familiar with the (preferably) both guns or at least SIGs in general
  • Firearm design/operation

* Cleanup: I've read that the P230 is SA/DA, which doesn't seem right. Maybe someone who actually owns one could confirm or debunk this.

Thanks.

Well, that's all I can think of right now. -- Seed 2.0 00:13, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is not a catalogue edit

At the time of writing this comment, the article reads like an advertisement for Sig and the P230. Subjective aesthetics and unsubstantiated claims of accuracy are not appropriate; Wikipedia is not a gun forum or a blog. I would appreciate it if the article could be trimmed down to verifiable information, or I will be obliged to do so myself. At the moment, that will leave it as a very short article indeed. Agreed. This article reads like an advertisement. There are no citations to published material about the attractiveness or the accuracy of this pistol. Did someone from Sig write this? 65.90.138.150 (talk) 15:49, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

P232 edit

The article opens by stating that the P230 was replaced in 1996 by the P232. However there is nothing in the rest of the article about the P232, and SIG P232 just redirects to this article. How do the two pistols differ? Replaced by whom? -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 16:55, 28 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

The P232 is made in Exeter Conn and has serious function issues. It is totally unacceptable as a self defense pistol —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.12.194.210 (talk) 19:43, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Per WP:V, you will need to cite a reliable external source for that somewhat questionable claim. ROG5728 (talk) 23:38, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
It was made up to 2015, it has adjustable sights, and the one pictured is the new model not the P230. The P230 to the P232 had numerous changes some were safety related. [1]NutritianMagician (talk) 00:20, 17 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
