I was disappointed to see material removed that has value to the user, in particular, the list of teachers. While I understand the arguments over notability, I also note that many editors argue for a generous attitude to this rule, given that Wikipedia is not limited for text storage. The list of teachers, along with other information, for a school representative of secondary modern education - something now extinct in Britain, is of interest to many user trying to piece together the past. It's inclusion does not take anything away - it occupies little space and does not constitute advertising or propaganda in any way. I would argue that all teachers, and many more people of significance to others, should be considered notable for the purpose of Wikipedia, since this may be the only place where such information will be found in the future by researchers and historians. There is clearly and argument for removing information if it clutters a page and distracts from more significant things, but on small pages where information is scarce this argument is invalid, and small facts are notable. The same is true of photographs on Wikimedia commons, and I would argue that Wikipedia pages are a good place to reference such photos - we should be generous with inclusion of photos, as again they occupy no memory, being freely permitted on the commons, and cost nothing unless they make a page too unwieldly. Please do not remove without discussion, especially when citations are provided. Lindosland (talk) 20:21, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- I understand your viewpoint, but Wikipedia articles shouldn't be a collection of any old information that has been found on a topic. The inclusion of lists of teachers, pupils etc. is discouraged by the Wikipedia Schools Project guidelines (WP:WPSCH/AG#WNTI). Rykneld School existed for decades – these particular teachers don't have any more significance than the many others that aren't listed... Jellyman (talk) 15:10, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
