Please enlighten me as to the point of this page? It is merely repeating verbatim what is on the Royal Artillery page. Anything not on the Royal Artillery page should be put in, and then this should be reverted back as a re-direct. Hammersfan 30/04/08, 14.51 BST

The Royal_Regiment_of_Artillery is actually comprised of two different regiments, with different capbadges. There are 12 x Royal_Artillery Regiments and 3 x Royal_Horse_Artillery Regiments. Most people know the Gunners as the Royal Artillery, hence most of the information being hosted on that page.. Perhaps information from that page should be hosted on this page, or that redirected here?? They do have different traditions, and a different way of numbering the batteries. (alphabetical, rather than numerical) .. The Artillery (like the Engineers) have more history with the actual Battery, rather than the hosting Regiment. FYI - I am intending to go to the Firepower museum soon, to find more info on Current Regiments, Batteries and also those batteries in Suspended Animation. --Jezarnold (talk) 17:17, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
In which case, there are two things that should be done:
  • Remove all reference from this page to the Royal Horse Artillery from here - the RHA has its own page and, if this is to be the page detailing the Royal Regiment of Artillery, there is no point in listing the RHA.
  • Remove from the Royal Artillery page anything that is duplicated here - in that instance, that page can serve as an introduction to artillery in the British Army, with links to this page and the RHA page, while those pages can serve to list and describe the individual regiments.

Agreed.. Will do it this weekend
oh yeah... reverted your edit for the nickname -- I think the Artillery has had the nickname Gunners longer than Arsenal.. After all Arsenal FC used was named after the Royal Arsenal, or where the 'Gunners' were based. five mile snipers... more like thirty mile snipers :) --Jezarnold (talk) 10:18, 2 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Any chance we could merge these 2 articles together? Please? Can I do it? Will anyone object? :) 9 (talk) 11:37, 13 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
