Examples of puffery edit

Dan arndt

"renowned as the Maha Wasala or Raja Wasala, commands attention."

"an awe-inspiring tableau framed by the Maha Wasala."

"boasts intricate woodwork, finely crafted stone carvings, and ornate wall murals."

"Dating back to 1806, this architectural gem"

"This two-story marvel"

"Binthanne Maligawa held the honor of being the birthplace of King Rajasinghe II."

"the building has two rows of elegantly carved pillars"

Several of these statements are subjective or at least convey an objective fact in unnecessary positive terms. Bremps... 12:16, 13 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • @Bremps:, these more relate to the tone and phrasing but certainly aren't in the form of an advertisement, as you had tagged. Dan arndt (talk) 03:06, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Dan arndt: This page was plagued with sockpuppet activity. This writing style is likely a result of the said sockpuppetry. Regarding the Kandyan period-related history articles, I feel overwhelmed by the POV-pushing editors at times. Chanaka L (talk) 04:31, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Chanakal:, am starting an overhaul and trying to remove the peacock phrasing and weasel words. It won't be the first or last article that some editors try and push their own personal bandwagon on. Sometimes it feels overwhelming but if nobody else does it them sometimes overzealous reviewers jump straight to deletion. Dan arndt (talk) 05:03, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
