The article appears very Victoria-based, and not representative of Rovering across Australia.

Proposed merge

In May it was proposed that Mafeking Rover Park, Rover Motorsport and Mudbash be merged to Scouting in Victoria. There is a suggestion on Talk:Scouting in Victoria that would be better merged here. I have therefore moved the merge tags to suggest the merge to here, but I suggest that the debate continues at Talk:Scouting in Victoria#Merge of three Rover articles - Mafeking Rover Park, Rover Motorsport and Mudbash. --Bduke 00:34, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Merge of Baden-Powell Award

It is proposed that this article be merged here. Although the article is not a stub, the material needs to be shortened into a tighter form and the article does have cleanup tags on it. The Rovers (Australia) article is not that long and has quite a bit of material on rather specific things. It would balance it out to have a section on the major award of the section. My only doubt is that I believe that the Baden-Powell Award is, or was, an award in Rovers in countries other than Australia (e.g. if memory serves me right, in UK when Rovers was a section), but the article does not mention this. In any event, if this award is used elsewhere it would have different criteria and could be mentioned elsewhere. --Bduke 23:08, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi. It is awarded in several countries where Rovers still exist. Perhaps having it link just to Australia is a problem, so could this section not be moved to the page on Rover Scouts in general rather than the page just on the Australian section? DiverScout (talk) 14:34, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Although the award shares the same name across several NSOs, I suspect that the requirements are very different. The universal Rover article should have content on the award, but specifics should be in the NSO or section articles. --—— Gadget850 (Ed) ^talk - 15:48, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Our version is essentially the same as the first Australian option. Problem is that anyone searching for the award is redirected straight to Rovers Australia, giving the wrong impression that it's an Australian award. Being as it is an internationally recognised award, I think that this award deserves its own page again. It should not be hard to create something equal to the Queen's Scout page and I'm happy to research and write it. DiverScout (talk) 18:51, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Oldest crew

The section below was, quite correctly, removed from the general article on Rovers. It should be on this article, but it needs referencing and it needs rewriting:

"Most importantly with regards to Australian Rovering, 1st Epping Rover Crew in Sydney North Region, New South Wales is the WORLD’S oldest continually operating Rover Crew. Many Crews worldwide started befor 1st Epping but these Crews have closed down or suspended operations for a period of years."

Removing POV and the obvious, it might read:
